READ: 10 Things To Love About Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, And Their MayWard Love Team

Life was simple for both Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber until Pinoy Big Brother changed their lives forever. Now that they're constantly in the limelight, it's easy to lose oneself in the midst of all the glitz and glamour in showbiz, but these two are staying humble and grounded through it all. Maymay and Edward are sources of inspiration not just for their fans but also to those who are chasing their dreams.

On juggling responsibilities

On dealing with rejections and getting over them

On her most important learning inside the Pinoy Big Brother house

On her family's most important piece of advice to her, now that she's a celebrity

On the opportunity of being in showbiz

On not losing oneself despite showbiz success

On striving to be better at her craft

On his advice to those who want to join Pinoy Big Brother

"Accept that you’re gonna be so bad at the beginning. That’s what I struggled with. At the end of the day, your biggest enemy is yourself. Because people will say things, but if you let them sink in, that’s your fault. I was so self-conscious in the beginning. Maymay and the other housemates and artists really helped me become more confident. But in the beginning, I was very, very shy. I was very self-conscious about everything I do. I’d watch my interviews again and see what I did wrong. Just accept the fact that you're not gonna be good in the beginning, and that’s fine. The important thing is you should learn from every mistake. It’s fine to make mistakes, and it’s fine to ask questions."

On his most important learning in showbiz so far

"You cannot do anything alone. For example, there were so many tasks inside PBB that I couldn't do alone. You need a team with you. And it’s the same when you have a movie or a teleserye—you’re an actor, but they (the cameramen, the audiomen, the director, the producer) make the set, you just stand in the set. Their job is a lot harder than yours. You never have the right to be arrogant, in my opinion, and I really hope that I never get arrogant because sometimes, you don’t really know it. That’s why I'm really happy that I have my parents here and Maymay, they’ll tell me if I'm doing something wrong. You’re not doing it all by yourself. There are a lot of people helping you do it, and they are pushing you to reach your goals. So you have to be grateful to everyone who helped you on your journey."

On dealing with fame

“We don’t like dwelling on it because when you really think about it, ‘Oh, I have a big fan base,’ that’s the time you start thinking na mas magaling ka sa iba o mas importante ka sa iba, but that’s not true. I guess it’s always good to be aware of what you have, be happy with what you have, but don’t exactly use that as a reason to think you’re better. I’m just very, very grateful to all the fans."

On using his celebrity status for a good cause through their ELM Tree Foundation

"We would like to bring awareness to other people. There's no way we can live in privacy so might as well bring something that people can see that might make a difference."

On enhancing one's talent

"I think one of my biggest strengths and my biggest weakness, and Maymay and I both have this, our standards are way too high for ourselves... but ang goal ko talaga is to be content with my skills or to get to the point where I don’t have to worry about 'Am I gonna be able to cry later in this scene or deliver my Tagalog lines?' [I want to] be able to relax at work and just enjoy it more."

On his musings about life in showbiz

"Maymay and I talked about this so many times. It’s not as easy as everyone thinks. But once you see the results after—I promise, in everything you do, if you struggle and then if you succeed at the end of it—it’s the best part."

On continuously adjusting to life in the limelight

"You should never stop learning. There are always new things to learn."

On how he sees himself five years from now

"Hopefully doing movies. I hope to not have just one path. I want to try out everything, and see what roles I can play. [I want to be a] comedian because I want to make people laugh. I also want to do action."
