Alyssa Muhlach and Pamu Pamorada Talk About Their Memorable Scenes In "2 Good 2 Be True"

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are the epitome of that classic love team that people never get tired of. Since the pair skyrocketed to fame starting from their 2013 teleserye, Got to Believe, they have been making Filipinos swoon with their undeniable chemistry and acting chops as seen even in hit films like She’s Dating a Gangster (2014), Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016), Can’t Help Falling in Love (2017), and The Hows of Us (2018). 

This year, the pair marks their return to primetime television since starring in 2017’s La Luna Sangre. The ongoing series 2 Good 2 Be True, which was streamed in advance through Netflix Philippines, is an offering perfect for their fans who have been clamoring for a rom-com series from the two young stars. 

The show follows Ali (Kathryn) and Eloy (Daniel) who meet by chance. Eloy is a car mechanic and law student who wants to free his father from jail, while Ali is a nurse and aspiring doctor. With hidden personas and own motives in the picture, both are reeled to each other’s lives for various reasons. In a world of complexities and lies, will their connection stand a chance? 

Joining Kathryn and Daniel is a power cast including Ronaldo Valdez, Gloria Diaz, Irma Adlawan, Gelli de Belen, Romnick Sarmienta, Cris Villanueva, Smokey Manaloto, Matt Evans, Jenny Miller, Yves Flores, Pamu Pamorada, Gillian Vicencio, Bianca de Vera, and Alyssa Muhlach. Some of these cast members (Romnick, Cris, Matt, Pamu, Gillian, Bianca, and Alyssa) recently took the time to chat with the media to offer their insights and stories on how things are on the set of 2 Good 2 Be True on and off camera. One thing pointed out in almost all the answers of the cast members is the bond and camaraderie between them. 

“Meron scene na sobrang natawa ako. Ako, si Via [Antonio], si Kuya Hyubs [Azarcon]. Kaming tatlo 'yung  magkakasama sa kitchen. Tapos 'yung scene namin, kakain kami ng pancit canton. Sa sobrang witty ni Via, sobrang tawang-tawa ako doon sa mga hirit niya. 'Yung emotions ko, hindi dapat ako tatawa, tumawa nalang po ako nang tumawa. 

“Doon naman sa nung tinake na, nakita ko naman na, ‘Ah, hindi naman nakita na sobrang tumawa ako.’ So, pinigilan ko po talaga 'yung tawa ko. Ang galing po kasi talaga ka-eksena ni Via at tsaka ni Kuya Hyubs,” shares Pamu, who plays a particularly funny character on the show as Gemma, described as the "kasambahay na marites ni Lolo Hugo [Ronaldo Valdez]."

Alyssa, on the the other hand, shared her how grateful she is that she’s able to learn a lot from the set. She says, “That’s why I’m so thankful kay Kath. Kasi kahit anong eksena, we all learn from her. Si Pamu, I’m sure she can say na we did a big, we did a medyo big scene, meaning marami kami sa scene recently in our taping and lahat kami as in pinag-uusapan after, ‘Grabe si ano, grabe ang galing.’ Pinag-uusapan talaga namin 'yung eksena, kasi s'yempre, we all react to the scene differently. Hindi lahat malungkot, hindi lahat masaya. So, it’s such an  interesting dynamic na we all learn from each other kasi we all have different characters talaga,” she explains.  

2 Good 2 Be True, which first aired on Netflix Philippines last May 13, is consistently on the top shows on the streaming platform.
