Shows like the ‘The Veil’ and ‘The Red Sleeve’ were big winners
Held in Dec 30 of this year, the 2021 MBC Drama Awards recognized the top shows and actors/actresses in South Korea who made 2021’s screen time more exciting. Hosted by Kim Sung-joo, the show this year didn’t have any audience to practice time safety and spread of COVID-19.
The most esteemed Grand Prize (Daesang) went to Namgoong Min for his performance in The Veil as an avenging former intelligence agent. The show raked in 10% ratings which was huge for MBC.
The most awarded show of the year went to The Red Sleeve, a recently launched historical drama filled with romance. The accolades included Top Excellence Awards for Lee Junho and Lee Se Young, the Lifetime Achievement Award for Lee Deok Hwa, the Best Couple Award, the Best Supporting Actor Award for Jang Hye Jin, and the Best New Actor award for Kang Hoon.
