3 Exciting Things Happening To IU In Entertainment Right Now
From a new collab, to merchandise, to an upcoming movie, the sky is definitely IU’s limit!
Exciting things are up ahead for Korea’s top female solo artist, IU!
According to Soompi, the 26-year-old artist is set to release a song she worked on with Suga of BTS. This report came in this past Monday, so it’s definitely a good way to start the week. Just yesterday, IU released a teaser of the song, sending fans in a happy tizzy. The digital single, entitled “Eight,” will be available to stream starting May 6th.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, debuted in 2008 with the album “Lost and Found.” She gained nationwide popularity after the release of her hit single “Good Day” in 2010. Suga, on the other hand, is one of the seven members of BTS, which debuted in 2013. He’s also a songwriter who’s made a name from himself beyond his work with the group.
That's not all for IU, though: She has a lot more in store for her fans!
On April 22, her management team announced that she's set to open an online merchandise shop for her fans, lovingly called the Uaenas. It opened on April 23 to the delight of many.
The two will start filming for this new movie next month, which will be IU’s first commercial film. She shared with W Korea that she’s nervous about it, but we have no doubts that IU will be nothing short of amazing!
In Dream, she will play Lee So-min, a character that IU describes to be “warm” and “caring.”
Which of her projects are you most excited for?
