Can Adela Mae Marshall Score An AsNTM Back-To-Back Win For Filipinos? We're Cheering!

The 20-year-old looker could be well on her way to being the second Filipina to conquer the competition after Metro cover girl Maureen Wroblewitz bagged the gold last year.

Standing at 5'8" tall, Adela Mae Marshall is a scene-stealer, though it's not just her physique or stunning-good looks that capture eveyone's attention. She's got needle-sharp focus yet is effortless, has an in-it-to-win-it attitude yet is amiable, gracious, and cheerful.

Her fans have long admired her for these qualities, but most remarkably, they're what landed her a top spot in Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 6, beating 11 other girls in the process. The reality show's most recent episode concluded with the British-Filipino lass in the top 3, leaving Adela with the second highest average score among the finalists.

Taking a moment to appreciate how far she's gone, Adela took to Instagram and wrote, "I think you may be able to tell that I didn’t think I would make it in this episode because both of my competitors were really strong but I will try my best to secure a back-to-back win for the Philippines."

"I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout the whole competition. I never thought I would receive this much support and I am so grateful for it all," she continued.

While Adela has received mostly praise and support for her AsNTM performance, the journey has not been without its challenges. Some have questioned her legtimacy as a "Filipino" contender given her British upbringing and nationality, but she has staunchly defended herself by articulating that she identifies with the Philippines and has chosen to be recognized as a Filipina.

Going head to head with Adela in the competition's last stretch are Thailand's Dana Slosar and Taiwan's Mia Sabathy. Her fellow Filipina, Jachin Manere, was eliminated during the show's sixth week.

The competition's finale is scheduled to air on October 24.
