Die-hard K-drama fans are sure to recognize these veteran Korean actors and actresses the moment they see them. Almost instantly, one is likely to be reminded of which series they've come across these ahjummas and ahjussis (or halmonis and halabeojis) in. One may not know or memorize their names, but they're definitely familiar with their faces. Now, it's time to put names to these famous faces, as they deserve to be celebrated too!
Taking on the roles of mothers/fathers, grandmothers/grandfathers, bosses/mentors, and sometimes even villains/villainesses, these veteran Korean actors and actresses add so much color and depth to a K-drama. The spotlight may be on the male and female leads, but there's no denying that the absence of these caliber and versatile personalities in the cast could make a series less heartwarming, compelling, or exciting.
