"Alchemy Of Souls" Star Go Youn Jung Is Penshoppe's Newest Muse
It's this rising Korean actress' time to shine, and there's no denying her global appeal
A new Korean star has joined top Filipino clothing brand Penshoppe's team of celebrity endorsers: Alchemy of Souls' star Go Youn Jung.
In a teaser video posted on their social media page, the brand captioned, "It's her time." Indeed, it's this 27-year-old actress' time to shine. Following her successful stint in the buzzworthy and top-rated K-drama Alchemy of Souls, Go Youn Jung has cemented her status as a rising star. In fact, for her role as Nak-su / Cho Yeong / Jin Bu-yeon in the said Korean series, she made waves and was named Rising Star Actress at the 2023 Brand Customer Loyalty Awards.
Go Youn Jung was launched as a Penshoppe muse with a photo shoot that shows her rocking a grunge, festival-ready look fit for the summer season. The Korean actress is seen sitting pretty in her white printed tee (styled with a black long-sleeved top underneath) and a denim skirt with a slit. Her look is finished off with a pair of black brogues worn with black socks.
Go Youn Jung joins the Penshoppe family which also includes other Hallyu stars like EXO's Chanyeol, NCT Dream, Han So Hee, and Song Kang.
Go Youn Jung debuted in the entertainment scene just in 2019 via the K-drama He Is Psychometric, and yet she's already made huge milestones in her career. She was part of the cast of Korean series Sweet Home, Moving, and Law School, and had cameos in The School Nurse Files and Rookie Cops. But it was her breakthrough role in Alchemy of Souls that really boosted her popularity and introduced her to a global audience. The South Korean espionage action film Hunt in 2022 also featured her in the main cast—a stint that earned her Best New Actress nominations from award-giving bodies like the Baeksang Arts Awards, Blue Dragon Film Awards, Buil Film Awards, and Grand Bell Awards.
