Can You Really Get Sexy In Only 21 Days? Rachel Alejandro And Chef Barni Alejandro-Rennebeck Say It Is Absolutely Possible!

As a follow-up to Rachel Alejandro and Chef Barni Alejandro-Rennebeck’s The Sexy Chef cookbooks, the two recently launched another healthy lifestyle book called 21 Days to a Sexier You, which offers a 21-day weight-loss plan.

 

 

Aside from their fat-fighting recipes—such as the cilantro-lime shrimp stuffed avocado, beef and lentil stew, stir-fry beef with basil, quinoa and lentil tabbouleh, and even desserts such as cranberry amazeballs, chocolate banana overnight oats, and dairy-free mango sago—they also offer personal anecdotes and practical tips that anyone can use to make better informed choices about their health.

“It actually started because of a personal need,” Chef Barni says about how The Sexy Chef started. “I was really getting sick all the time, I was having flu at least twice a month. So my mom, because she was worried, she brought me to the States for check-up.”

“I like to eat hotdogs, fried rice, ice cream, chips—those are my favorites. So, I wasn’t getting the nutrients that I needed to have a strong immune system,” she further shares her own weight loss journey. “I was only 20 at that time and I was 20 pounds overweight. So when I started following my doctor’s advice and started to eat healthy, I lost 30 pounds in three months. Then, Rachel gave me healthy cookbooks to follow, that's where it started.”

The possibility of losing weight in three weeks truly sounds appealing, that's why people are intrigued by it. According to the National Academy of Sports Medicine, it takes 21 days to successfully create a healthy habit. “It takes at least 21 days to see visible results. We tell our clients and readers to, at least, give it 21 days and try not to cheat in between,” Rachel shares.

“There is no such thing as eating as much as you wanted, and eating whenever and whatever you wanted, and you will lose weight," she adds. "Eat only until you’re almost full. Give it five minutes then you will already feel full. That is really the secret to staying thin.”

 

 

Besides healthy eating, Rachel and Chef Barni also find ways to follow a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Chef Barni is into yoga, while Rachel sticks to a strict workout routine (regular exercise and weight training, she says).
