Inside Angeline Quinto and Nonrev Daquina’s Filipino-Themed Wedding in Quiapo

The couple’s story of a lifetime finally unfolds with a Filipino-themed wedding executed with thoughtful details

Kapamilya singer-actress Angeline Quinto and her long-time non-showbiz partner Nonrev Daquina finally said their “I dos” yesterday, April 25, at the historic Quiapo Church in Manila. Both devotees of the Black Nazarene, a renowned religious figure in the Philippines, the pair opted to get wed in the 95-year-old cathedral to pay homage to their hometown.

Sa simbahang ito, ako’y humihingi sa Mahal na Poong Nazareno na sana’y ibigay niya sa ‘kin ang lalaking makakasama ko habambuhay. After four years, nandito tayo ngayon. Hindi naging madali ang umpisa natin, pero hindi tayo bumitaw sa isa’t isa,” Angeline said in her wedding vows. “Nonrev, ikaw ang musika at awit koMahal na mahal kita.”

Angeline and Nonrev’s star-studded entourage and guest list include several famous personalities no less than Vice Ganda (man of honor), Sarah Geronimo (flower girl) and Matteo Guidicelli, Erik Santos (ring bearer), Ogie Alcasid, and principal sponsors Charo Santos-Concio, Regine Velasquez, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Boy Abunda, Dr. Vicki Belo, and Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna. ABS-CBN executives Cory Vidanes and Laurenti Dyogi were also in attendance.

As she tied the knot with Nonrev, Angeline also treated her fans to a surprise: a new single titled “Salamat Ika’y Dumating,” which she penned with ABS-CBN Music Creative Director Jonathan Manalo. Inspired by her love for her husband, the song was performed by the Philippine Madrigal Singers during the wedding march.

Angeline, meanwhile, looked nothing but exquisite in an intricate Neric Beltran number, which flattered her curves with a mermaid cut. It also featured an off-shoulder detail, floral and crystal embellishments, and a long wedding train trailing her back. The groom, on the other hand, sported a classic Barong Tagalog, which is also a creation of Neric.

To complement Angeline’s wedding ensemble, celebrity makeup artist RB Chanco took care of her sophisticated looks. Her bridal bouquet, which consists of white moth orchids, was also one of the highlights of her overall look. To make the wedding a reality, however, event stylist Dave Sandoval, photographer Mico Gonzales, and event coordinator Aiah Uy of La Belle Fete joined forces together.

Apart from choosing Quiapo as the spotlight location for her wedding, it was reported that Angeline was also the first celebrity to marry in Quiapo Church. She and Nonrev pursued a very Filipino theme, too, with a stylized jeepney for a bridal car, some Quiapo trinkets as design elements at the Manila Hotel reception, and a modern twist to Filipino dishes and delicacies.

Angeline Quinto, who portrays Sarah Angeles in the Philippine adaptation of What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, shares a son named Aziel Sylvio with Nonrev Daquina. In September 2022, the couple got engaged in the United States during one of Angeline’s concerts, a few months after Angeline gave birth to their firstborn.

Congratulations and best wishes, Angeline and Nonrev!
