You gotta love fashion giant Gucci for putting together beloved Philippine actress Anne Curtis-Smith and South Korean national treasure IU in one impressive and historic fashion event, the “Gucci Cruise 2024” at the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, South Korea.

Despite her superstar stature here in the Philippines, Anne has always been a passionate fangirl, making her all the more relatable to many Filipinos. Just like many Pinoys, she’s an avid follower and fan of the Hallyu culture. In fact, she is also a Uaena/Maena (IU’s fandom name/Maaena is a fandom name given by IU to Filipino fans) who has tweeted in the past about waiting for IU to visit Manila and even shared that she’s been watching IU’s horror-fantasy hit K-Drama Hotel Del Luna.

When Anne updated on her social media that she’s on her way to Seoul for the event, fellow Uaenas cheered on the actress not only for representing the Philippines in thefashion scene but also in encouraging her to take a selfie or photo together with beloved Korean superstar IU— a global ambassador of Gucci.

Anne dutifully updated her Instagram with photos at the event, describing it in the caption as “insanely beautiful venue and show,” with a carousel of photos with celebrities such as Dakota Johnson, New Jeans’ Hanni and Thai actress Davika Hoorne.

Hours later, like a true Uaena/IU fangirl, Anne finally uploaded a separate adorable picture with fellow superstar IU with the caption “Was so so lovely to finally meet you @dlwlrma.” The picture instantly garnered a massive amount of likes and comments from fans and even fellow celebrities like Kim Chiu, Karylle, Jasmin Curtis, Megan Young, Dasuri Choi, Denise Laurel, Kaye Abad, and more.

Uaenas/Maaenas were also equally thrilled that in the background of Anne’s photo with IU is the Korean singer-actress’ famous bodyguard Kunwoo Park. The IG photo definitely felt like a treat for the fandoms.
