Anne Curtis-Smith On “Anne-Locking” Financial Goals

Multihyphenate mom Anne Curtis-Smith talks about the financial and business lessons she has learned along the way

<p>An epitome of a successful woman, <strong>Anne Curtis-Smith</strong> is a multi-hyphenate worth emulating. With the work background that she has, <strong>Manulife Philippines</strong> named her as its newest brand ambassador. </p><div><br/></div><p>The actress, host, and entrepreneur is a highly-esteemed icon in the entertainment industry who has found her footing not only in the niche where she started but even behind the scenes. “I hope it has been common knowledge that I’ve always been a pursuer of dreams, so when you think about it, it goes hand in hand—being a pursuer of dreams and being a goalmaker,” she says. </p><div><br/></div><p>Anne takes on at least three businesses: Beauty brand <a href="https://www.instagram.com/blkcosmeticsph/" target="_blank">BLK Cosmetics</a>, activewear brand <a href="https://www.instagram.com/our.recess/" target="_blank">Recess</a>, and baby wear brand <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tilidahli/" target="_blank">Tili Dahli</a> (in collaboration with her sister-in-law <a href="https://metro.style/people/digital-covers/solenn-heussaff-mothers-day-2020-cover/24891" target="_blank">Solenn Heussaff</a>). Now a devoted wife and a wonder mom, Anne still manages to navigate more paths and marvels at the possibilities of future-proofing her family’s needs, especially that her daughter <strong>Dahlia </strong>is already growing up and she is preparing for retirement since she’s “reaching a certain age already.”</p><div><br/></div><p>Looking back, she lets us know what financial rule she has been keeping with her throughout her career track, saying, “I think one of the first [pieces of] advice that I had was to separate my savings. However tough it is to save, Anne suggests that from time to time, it is important to treat oneself. “You have [to have] that extra account for when you can splurge for yourself and treat yourself to anything that you want to spoil yourself with.”</p><div><br/></div><p>On the topic of investing and receiving financial security, Anne opens up: “I would have to say, definitely spoil yourself to protecting your future and securing your future for your family. Maybe it’s time to invest in [an] insurance for your family or for your professional life or your personal life. I just want to encourage people to set those goals, but don’t be afraid to ask for advice also to help you attain those goals that you want to achieve.”</p><div><br/></div><p> Anne encourages her followers to embark on the same journey. “You know, it’s always taking that first step. It can be scary to think about making that investment and take your time, but take that courage,” she states, highlighting that success is not a one-man team. “I think it’s having that mentality that you’re not doing it alone.
