Anne Curtis-Smith Wows In Her "It's Showtime" Comeback
"Kept my promise. I came back," Anne shared
After a hiatus of almost three years, television host and actress Anne Curtis-Smith has made a comeback to the noontime scene. Her It’s Showtime family first hinted at the huge surprise through a teaser, where her classic chant for the “madlang people” echoed in the background.
On Anne’s Instagram account, she confirmed her much-awaited comeback with the caption: “This time. Tomorrow. FINALLY. See you, MADLANG PEOPLE!”
Following her maternity leave in 2019 prior to the pandemic, Anne savored first-time motherhood and stepped away from the limelight to be with her daughter Dahlia Amélie and her husband Erwan Heussaff in Australia, where her mom is based.
Anne and Erwan returned to the Philippines with their little one in February 2021. She has since been busy with her family life and her business, the BLK Cosmetics.
All this time, fans of Anne and It’s Showtime have been waiting for the host to return to the noontime show. Finally, last May 28, Anne returned onstage to reunite with her co-hosts and greet the “madlang people.”
To give her a warm welcome, the production staff showed a collection of her funny clips throughout her hosting track on the show. A fun homecoming fit for the one and only “Diyosa,” a series of performances from her peers also followed before she ultimately wowed everyone with her much-anticipated song number onstage, where she even requested for a repeat—or take two—because she could not contain her nervousness. Despite the viewers’ eagerness in her version of an Ariana Grande song, she openly admitted that she felt anxious during the performance, so the crowd cheered her on to express their support for her.
Anne will also have a comeback concert, titled “Luv-ANNE: The Comeback,” on June 11 in Resorts World Manila.
In the meantime, as she prepares for this concert, Anne will only be present in It’s Showtime every Saturday.
