Look! Divine Lee And Blake Go Threw Baby Baz A Cinco De Mayo-Themed Party For His First Birthday!
A parent never ceases to be amazed at how much their children have grown year after year, but there's truly something special, something magical even about celebrating their first year of life.
It's definitely why mom and dad almost always go all-out with their baby's first-ever birthday bash despite the celebrator being too little to appreciate all the goings-on around them, not to mention that they might even sleep through the whole event!
The effort is essentially for the whole family to have beautiful memories to look back in the future, and over the weekend, no parents knew this better than Metro.Style cover girl Divine Lee and her husband Blake Go who threw their son Baz a Cinco de Mayo-themed party!

With the venue designed by none other than Gideon Hermosa, the ultra-colorful event was held at the Manila Marriott Hotel on Sunday. Transforming the venue to a dream come true for the celebrator and his young guests, Gideon made use of vibrant buntings to spruce up the space, Instagram-worthy tablescapes, and floor-to-ceiling Mexican-inspired décor—cute potted succulents and papier mache cacti included!

It all served as a pretty backdrop to the day's events that included sweet mini speeches from Baz's bigger friends, a video presentation featuring gigil-inducing photos of the birthday boy, onstage dance performances (some by Asia's Got Talent performers!), a "best in costume" contest, an awesome cake reveal by Bethany Dream Cakes, snacks from J.CO Donuts and Puffles PH, pinatas filled with 20 kilos of candy, prizes from ToysRUs, an inflatable play island, and a massive feast (whose main event was the giant paella) that satisfied Baz's grown-up guests' appetites from the party's beginning to end.

There to share in Divine and Blake's major milestone as parents were special guests Iza Calzado who happens to be Baz's godmother, Karylle, Ruffa Gutierrez, Rajo Laurel, and Nix Alañon.
No one could get their hands off the tiny tot who played along and was all smiles for all his photos!

With nothing but gratefulness for her son's health and happiness on this special day, Divine continues to share many of her guests' posts about this birthday experience, clearly proud of the awesome celebration she put together for her son.

The mommy, who is, in fact, pregnant with a daughter, also made sure that the birthday would hold greater meaning by having her first birthing story re-told.

On baby Baz's Instagram, a cheery post about him reads:
"Fun fact: Mom had to do CS coz she’s nearing overdue coz I refused to go out. Was supposed to be born on May 1 (Yes, she’ll be on labor on Labor Day! And same bday as my Mamita!) but I didn’t go out. So she was tasked to pick a date between May 1-7. She almost picked May 4 (she’s a Star Wars fan) but dada’s feng sui said May 5! Olé! That’s why I’m born May 5!"
Looking forward to another full year of new memories to make with her growing family, Divine also shared a series of photos from Baz's pre-birthday shoot that's as cute as it sounds.
Dressed in theme for his birthday party, Baz was nothing but adorable as he willingly did a "cake smash" for the video shoot. The toddler dove right into the tiered treat and sampled a handful of it himself, much to the delight of those watching.

Divine also penned her own heartwarming tribute to her eldest child on social media where she called him "the perfect man" and recounted some of her best memories with him, so far.
In part, the proud mama wrote, "Be nobody else but you. When things get tough and the world seems sad, I’ll always remind you that it only took a 'tabo' to keep you laughing for days. Keep making people laugh with your many faces. The world is tough but I know you’re tougher."
All in all, Divine and Blake certainly looked like they did a great job at making this first birthday the best it could be, and when he's old enough, we're sure that baby Baz would love to go through photos of his special day!
