Must-Listen: Bea Alonzo Recites A Heartwarming Poem For ABS-CBN, Her Home Network
In the two-and-a-half-minutes piece, the actress talked about her journey as a Kapamilya for two decades and how the media giant has made a huge impact on her life
Bea Alonzo put up an emotion-evoking tribute to her home network ABS-CBN, which was recently served with a cease and desist order by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) due to a franchise issue. The network signed off on all its television and radio operations on Tuesday night, May 5.
In the two-and-a-half-minutes piece, the actress looked back at the impact that her home network has had on her life. She has been a Kapamilya for two decades, with the media giant that has long served as a guiding light to her growth and development as an individual.
“Unti-unti. Isang hakbang pagkatapos ng isa, at isa pa, at isa pa. Lumakad papunta sa daang gustong tahakin. Hindi naging madali. Madalas nadadapa, madalas natatapilok. Pero isa lang ang naging sigurado: may kamay na aakay sa’yo, may ilaw na laging gagabay sa’yo,” she wrote.
Bea also said that despite the challenges that come with being in the showbiz industry, ABS-CBN has always been there for her. “Pero hindi din perpekto ang daan, minsan makikita mo na lang ang sarili mong parang nasa roleta. Minsan nasa’y itaas, minsan nasa’y ibaba, pero ang laging natatanaw ay pula, berde, at bughaw,” she continued.
The Kapamilya star spread some light at the end of her heartwarming poem, hoping that everything will work out for the best. “Pula, berde, bughaw. Iikot muli ang roleta ng buhay. Hindi laging nasa ibaba. Umaasang iikot muli ang roleta. Hanggang sa muli, Kapamilya.”
Like Anne Curtis, Angel Locsin, Vice Ganda, and other Kapamilya celebrities, she has expressed the same sentiments on the issue via social media, and asked for the continued support of the Filipinos during these trying times. In an Instagram post, she wrote, “The Philippines will never be the same without ABS-CBN. Our lives will never be the same without our KAPAMILYA network. We are asking for compassion. People are dying, people are starving and the last thing that we want right now is to see these 11,000 people (or more) face the uncertainties of tomorrow without a job to hold on to and a family, ABS-CBN, to run to.”
