The Binibining Pilipinas 2018 Titleholders Look Back At Their Pageant Journey As They Turn Over Their Crowns
Another batch of beauty queens will be crowned tonight as Binibining Pilipinas 2019 holds its grand coronation night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Six crowns are up for grabs in this year’s pageant, including the coveted Miss Universe Philippines, Binibining Pilipinas International, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational, Binibining Pilipinas Globe, and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International.
As their reign as Binibining Pilipinas beauty queens comes to a close, the 2018 titleholders can't help but reminisce on how the past year had been one of the best years of their lives. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray posted a throwback photo from her Metro.Style cover shoot with her fellow Binibining Pilipinas 2018 queens (Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman, Miss International 2018 1st runner-up Ahtisa Manalo, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar, Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michele Gumabao, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2018 Eva Patalinjug), captioning it with: "I'm so grateful to have been reigning alongside you beautiful souls. You all made me feel like we had a little family everytime we would see each other and that's something I'm definitely going to miss. You all made our country so proud."
Michele also feels proud to have had the chance to represent the country with the five other beautiful, smart, and talented ladies, posting a photo of all them during the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 grand coronation night with the caption, "It's time to turnover our crowns. It's time to take our final walk. My first ever pageant couldn't have been any better because of these amazing women right here that I'm proud to call my sisters."
It took Jehza—who recently got married to professional basketball player Peter June Simon—three tries to win a crown, making her success sweeter. Today, nostalgic about her Binibining Pilipinas experience over the years, she said on Instagram, "Once a Binibini, twice a Binibini, thrice a Binibini, forever grateful to be called a Queen."
Eva, who expressed her excitement about Binibining Pilipinas 2019, wishes nothing but the best for the 40 candidates who were chosen to compete for this year's pageant. And to those who didn't make it, she had some comforting words, "I believe God has better plans for all of you, you’re destined for greater things! Keep your head up high!"
Ahtisa, meanwhile, took this opportunity to thank her fellow Binibining Pilipinas 2018 queens by complimenting them, enumerating their best qualities, and sharing what she loves most about each of them.
Karen filled her Instagram Stories, too, with Binibini-related posts, including a BTS shot from their Metro.Style cover shoot. And she can't agree more with the saying "Once a Binibini, always a Binibini."
The 2018 batch of queens is inarguably among the best. Each woman has an inspiring story, that drive to succeed, and the desire to pursue more meaningful and purposeful endeavors even outside of pageantry. They represented the Philippines the best way they could, and now that they're about to pass on their Binibining Pilipinas crowns and titles, we congratulate them once again and thank them for doing the country proud.
