There to assess answers was a panel of judges composed by celebrities James Reid, Nadine Lustre, Daniel Padilla, Zalora and Grab Taxi Philippines co-founder Brian Cu, ABS-CBN Integrated Events Head Bobby Barreiro, Italian and Spanish Ambassadors Giorgio Guglielmino and Jorge Moragas, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, Gilas Pilipinas baller Christian Standhardinger, Asia at Alorica Inc. president Reinerio Borja, as well as Quezon City mayor Joy Belmonte.
At the end of the competition, the new queens were met by 2018's set of titleholders who appeared together for the last time and shared an embrace, each passing on their crowns to their successors alongside the responsibility that comes with them.
The Philippines' first-ever Miss Intercontinental Karen Gallman, Miss International 2018 first runner-up Ahtisa Manalo, newly married Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar, Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michelle Gumabao, and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2018 Eva Patalinjug were in full force, each beautiful and radiant in their couture outfits.
Reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray's time onscreen proved to be most emotional of them all, as she delivered a farewell speech that recounted her best memories of her pageant experience and what her title has come to mean for her.
Focusing on her advocacy of education for impoverished Filipino youth, the chance to represent her country, and all the moments that allowed her to learn more about herself, Catriona couldn't help but tear up during her time onstage.
