WATCH: Boy Abunda Asks Angelina Jolie Searing Questions About Love—And She Answers!
There's a reason why love doesn't always work out, according to this Oscar-winning actress
Not everyone—no, make that almost no one—gets to interview a Hollywood actress about her thoughts on love and heartache, so when the opportunity arises, it must be taken full advantage of.
Take your cue from none other than Boy Abunda, possibly the country's most lauded and beloved talk show host whose interview skills are matched by none, who got his shot at this once in a lifetime situation when he sat down with Maleficent: Mistress of Evil's leading lady, Angelina Jolie herself!

The Kapamilya host flew to Japan where the Oscar-winning actress and her co-star Sam Riley were promoting their newest film that sees Angelina reprising her role of Maleficent, Princess Aurora's stepmother who struggles to balance the fine line between the goodness she seeks and the inherent darkness of her nature throughout her journey of motherhood.
While the pair had only a few minutes with Tito Boy, he made sure to make it a juicy minute and a half. He cut straight to chase, relating the film's themes of love, pain, and loss to real-life experiences of these complex emotions.
Here are excerpts from his brief, but meaningful exchange with Angelina:
Why does love always come from pain?
"I think when love is right, it's a good kind of pain. It's growing. It's a pain where your heart is stretching, your feelings are stretching... 'The greater the love, the greater the loss' is true."
Love doesn't always end well. Why?
"Because maybe one kind of love is mistaken for another."
Your most important lesson from Maleficent.
"To trust in your true nature."
The short encounter was definitely an experience to be relished, and for any Angelina fan, they'll be sure to thank Tito Boy for giving them a closer look at their silver screen idol's innermost thoughts on the subjects they touched on.
