BTS’ Suga Is Starting His Military Service!

The BTS member will enlist on September 22

BTS' Suga, or Min Yoon Gi, is all set for South Korea’s mandatory military service. He has become the supergroup’s latest member to leave for the army, enlisting after Jin and J-Hope. On September 17, his label Big Hit Music issued an announcement informing the public that Suga is preparing to depart for service.

“Suga will be beginning his required service on September 22,” Big Hit declared. “There will not be any official events taking place on the day he starts his service or on the day he enters the training camp. We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting Suga at his workplace during the period of his service. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts only.”

As Suga embarks on his journey, the entertainment company also asked for the consideration of his supporters. “Please be mindful to avoid getting adversely affected by unauthorized tours or package products that illegally use the artist’s intellectual property,” Big Hit stated. “Our company will also strive to provide all the support he needs during this time.”

Last April, Suga wrapped up his latest world tour titled “Agust D,” an event especially staged to support the artist’s debut album “D-Day.” This September 22, he will finally take on his military duties, which is mandated by the government of South Korea. By 2025, the BTS rapper will be released from his two-year training.
