Bugheads, We Need Your Help! Did Cole Sprouse And Lili Reinhart Just Tell Us They're Official?
They just stepped onto the red carpet, together. Could this be the couple confirmation we've been waiting for?
Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart, stars from the comics-inspired hit TV series Riverdale, have been the subjects of layer upon layer of speculation over the last few months.
Their on-screen romance involving Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper (hence the "Bughead" fandom) has gotten their legion of fans into a frenzy about whether or not their palpable chemistry has translated into the real world—we guess yes!
While the young celebs have kept mum for almost an entire year about their maybe-maybe not relationship, so much has transpired to suggest that they are, indeed, a reel-to-real item.
It all started early last year when Riverdale's first season soared through ratings and the two were spotted spending a lot of time together outside sets and publicly staying in touch via social media.
The casual meet-ups gradually turned into stolen moments of PDA (those kisses and embraces weren't scripted!) and trips around the world together. So far, they've gone to Paris, Hawaii, and Mexico together for work and leisure.
Don't even get us started on the fact that Cole, an emerging photographer, has clearly made Lili his muse. She appears in several of his artsy photos, some of which were taken on their vacations for two.
And as a brave fans at the PaleyFest LA 2018 panel asked them about their relationship, the handsome Cole simply whispered, "no comment" into his microphone, much to the disappointment of his followers hoping for a black and white response.
The most that fans have gotten out of these two were Cole's words emphasizing the importance of privacy during an interview with People. The 25-year-old said:
"Whether you dismiss those rumors or whether you encourage those rumors, it’s giving people who are, in my opinion, a bit entitled to your personal life more power.
"The more you let people in on that, the more people feel entitled to it and the more it becomes problematic with whoever you end up being with in the future, so I take that very seriously. So I just never talk about it because it’s not anyone’s right to know," he continued.
But after months of playing this guessing game with their fans, Cole and Lili appeared to be feeling a little more confident about dropping bigger hints to the world.
At the 2018 Met Gala, the pair arrived at the scene together and were unmistakably cozied up on the red carpet. With Cole was dressed in a custom Thom Browne tux and Lili dolled up in a special H&M number in silver, they definitely looked like a glamorous Hollywood couple.
And as Tinseltown rules go, when you arrive at an event as prestigious and watched as the Met Gala as each other's dates, it's safe to assume that it's getting (or has gotten) serious.
Lili and Cole, just tell us already!
