OMG! Are Bea Alonzo And John Lloyd Teaming Up For A Comeback Movie?

With the film rumored to be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, we're seriously hoping the answer to that is "Yes!"

"Antayin ninyo. ‘Di ko sasabihin," said director Cathy Garcia-Molina in this report previously published about the huge news that's making this love team's fans palpitate.

Calm down, everyone. Or at least, try to!

They're called rumors for a reason, and when it comes to an upcoming film starring OG love team Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz, it's still nothing but that until someone makes a confirmation. (Please let that confirmation come sooner than later!).

In case you didn't know where the rumors began, they likely started when the pair was spotted casually hanging out at a restaurant and enjoying a meal together. Though they really are friends in real life away from the cameras, people couldn't help but wonder if there was more to the meet-up—were they possibly dining out after a long day of filming, a table read, or a meeting with co-stars? Who knows?

And then this love team's fans started to think harder; they remembered that direk Cathy once said that before she retires from film making, she'd love to do one last project with John Lloyd, the Pinoy celeb she proudly calls her favorite actor.

In the past, direk Cathy has directed Bea and John in films One More Chance, Miss You Like Crazy,  and A Second Chance.

Riding on the success of 2019's Hello, Love, Goodbye and with her talent, it wouldn't surprise us if direk Cathy did manage to score a deal with two of the industry's biggest stars, albeit secretly!

And finally, making the rumor mill turn at top speed was a very much welcome Valentine's surprise that kicked off ArtFair Philippines 2020 that unfolded last week: Bea and John Lloyd made an appearance at Ayala Triangle, Makati, where they delighted their audience with a rare live table read of romantic film, That Thing Called Tadhana. (The Antoinette Jadaone-directed movie came out in 2014 and originally starred Angelica Panganiban and JM de Guzman).

You can imagine the cheering and swooning that ensued as the two exchanged lines and laughed and giggled and smiled that accompanied the live read.

"Pangit naman kung ako ang mag-confirm sa inyo, ‘di pa ako allowed," Cathy continued, piquing curiosity even more, rather than satiating it.

It seems like we'll just have to wait and see about the status of this maybe, maybe not reunion film and keep our fingers crossed until then.

We're keeping our hopes up for this one, because, how can you not? Seeing Bea and John Lloyd together onscreen again is a treat we can't pass on.

As a bonus, here are more clips and photos taken from the kilig-filled table read!
