Catriona alighted the steps of the private jet wearing a stunning all-white suit by Chris Nick Delos Reyes, highlighting her 5”9" physique and radiant beauty. She was also seen wearing a stunning 24-karat gold brooch in the shape of the Philippine islands with a golden south sea pearl by Jewelmer.

As she arrived at the small press area, Catriona was welcomed by the kids from the Young Focus Foundation, the beneficiary of the proceeds from her hit debut single, “We Are In This Together.” These kids from Tondo were also the focus of Catriona’s winning answer during the Miss Universe Q&A portion, where she cited her experience in the slum area of Tondo, Manila that taught her to “look for beauty” and the “silver lining” in everything.

During her short speech, Catriona shares that her winning the crown hasn’t sunken in quite yet.

“Thank you so much for all being here, for making my first trip hope such a memorable one. It hasn’t sunken yet that we have won Miss Universe, pero para sa’yo ’to, Pilipinas. I’m so happy to be home, so happy to be back in the Philippines, and to see my Young Focus family. I’m just really excited to be part of Gov [Chavit Singon’s] charity project tomorrow. It is the season of giving…hopefully inspiring everyone to get into the spirit of giving this Christmas. Maraming salamat po.”

Catriona has also been spotted in various press and charity events, including the Gentle Hands Charity event by Frontrow Philippines, Miss Universe, and the LCS group of companies. She attended the event held at Shangri-La at the Fort in a pink custom top by designer Jearson Demavivas, who also created her national costume and her other outfits for the pageant itself and the pre-pageant activities.

But perhaps one of the biggest homecoming event for her is the one-on-one with President Rodrigo Duterte. After the Gentle Hands Charity event, Catriona paid a courtesy visit to the president at the Villamor Airbase, wearing a black suit ensemble. She was welcomed by the President with a bouquet of orchids.

According to a text message sent by Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo to ABS-CBN News, the president thanked Catriona for bagging the crown and told her that everyone is euphoric about her win.

Catriona’s return to the country is not yet her official homecoming since she is flying back to New York by January 7 to start on her activities and responsibilities as Miss Universe. She is, however, ecstatic that she is back home to spend the Christmas with her family and attend charity events with the Bb. Pilipinas Foundation.
