Filipino Celebrities at the 2024 Manila International Film Festival in Hollywood
Here are the local personalities who graced the affair
The Manila International Film Festival kicked off in Los Angeles, California last Tuesday, January 30, screening all ten films from the most recent Metro Manila Film Festival. After its successful run in the Philippines, these movies were launched in Hollywood, with the event taking place at the TCL Chinese Theatre at Hollywood Boulevard.
Philippine-produced movies Becky and Badette, Broken Heart’s Trip, Family of Two: A Mother and Son Story, GomBurZa, Firefly, (K)ampon, Penduko, When I Met You in Tokyo, Mallari, and Rewind will be in the silver screen until February 2.
Awards will be presented at the inaugural affair as well, including a Best Picture laurel that comes with a total package of USD200,000 worth of production equipment and industry vendor support from Atlas Lens Co., BlackOps Studios Asia, CMB Film Services, Inc., and Myriad Entertainment USA.
The winner of the Best Picture will also be given a lifetime chance to collaborate on a US-based film with Birns & Sawyer, an LA-based, filmmaker-owned production outfit that focuses on equipment rentals, broadcast products and services, and more.
Several celebrities who flew from the PH to the US include Lisa Frankenstein actress Liza Soberano, Mallari stars Piolo Pascual and Janella Salvador, Rewind leading man Dingdong Dantes, Becky and Badette headliner Eugene Domingo, 2023 MMFF Gabi ng Parangal Best Actor Cedrick Juan, GomBurZa actor Enchong Dee, Kapamilya actor Christian Bables, and entertainment veteran John Arcilla.
