In Photos: Who Is Katherine Schwarzenegger, Chris Pratt's Drop Dead Gorgeous Fiancée?
Theirs was a whirlwind romance that caught everyone by surprise.
Only seven months had passed since we first got wind of these two lovebirds cozying up in adorable afternoon picnics at the park after hitting it off on a blind date.
But Chris, an actor who reached worldwide fame after starring as Guardians of the Galaxy's super effective anti-hero Star-Lord, and Katherine, an author and daughter of the Arnold Schwarzenegger, thought that it was more enough time to fall in love totally and completely, so much so that they've decided to get married.
Keeping a low-profile for most of their time together pre-engagement (almost no pictures of themselves together exist on their social media accounts), the couple announced the news via Instagram (with a matching photo, of course), captioning the image with their own sweet words.
Chris wrote, "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go! ????♥?," to which Katherine responded with her own, "My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone but you ♥???."
Her ring, a close-up photo of she has yet to share, appears to be a "five-carat cushion set in a Harry Winston-style micro pavé halo," according to E! News.

Newer fans of the Jurassic World leading man were head over heels about the engagement, but those who have followed him since his beginnings as a fledgling star were quick to reminisce his first marriage to fellow onscreen comic Anna Faris, which officially ended in October last year and lasted for almost a decade.
But worry not, the actress, who is also in a relationship, had nothing but good things to say about the upcoming union.
"I'm so happy for you both! Congratulations," she commented on his post.
Now that Chris has his eyes and heart set on a new love, we're eager to get to know the woman he's decided to spend the rest of his life with. Aside from carrying a last name that anyone from anywhere will recognize and being drop dead gorgeoue, Katherine is much more than what meets the eye:

She's a motivational author
Her first book, Rock What You've Got: Secrets to Loving Your Inner and Outer Beauty from Someone Who's Been There and Back, published in 2010 chronicles the body image struggles that plagued her as a teenager. She wished to use her personal challenges, which she has successfully overcome, to inspire others going through similar experiences to persevere and get better.
And in 2012, her second book, I Just Graduated . . . Now What? that she wrote after wrapping up university life was written for fresh college graduates unsure of what to do next post-student life.

She's got an advocacy
Katherine loves dogs. She loves them so much that she wrote a children's book about her experience on fostering a canine pal called Maverick and Me, and actively supports animal charities as the ambassador of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Best Friends Animal Society.
She's great with kids
This was something really important to Chris, as he and Anna co-parent their six-year-old son Jack despite being in relationships with new partners. Katherine has reportedly made the process of accepting a new person in Jack's life much easier by spending quality time with him and making real effort to get to know him. The two have been spotted enjoying time with Chris as well as with his family without issue.

She's got faith and lots of it
Katherine has never been ashamed of expressing her faith. She often credits her life's greatest triumphs to Jesus, and throughout the course of her relationship with Chris, she and him have had several church dates together.

Aside from the books she's published, the 29-year-old also maintains a self-titled website where she regularly writes about her passions: animals, food, beauty, fashion and lifestyle, and shopping!
She's well-connected—in more ways than one
Who Katherine's dad is is pretty obvious, but a little digging further reveals that her mom, Maria Shriver, is actually the daughter of Eunice Kennedy—President John F. Kennedy's little sister.
