Christian wore a deep wine-colored tuxedo suit in a light wool fabric, while Kat was in a blush form-fitting asymmetrical gown with sparkly embellishments and cascading ruffles in silk organdy. Both outfits were created by Francis Libiran, who has been the go-to fashion designer of Christian for so many years now.
"For Christian, we wanted something that’s not the typical black tuxedo which is very traditional, so we opted for him to wear a wine-colored suit instead, to match with the pale pink material of Kat’s gown. The color is actually a suggestion of mine. For Bali, he wore a coat in hunter green, so we wanted something different for the Manila reception," Francis tells Metro.Style.
For Kat's fun yet elegant gown, Francis shared that the gorgeous newlywed wanted something sexy yet classy at the same time, a design request that was successfully achieved with the serpentina silhouette and the low neckline detail. "We made use of a one-sided detail that goes all the way to the back, to connect all the layers of this gown. Kat has a perfect curvy shape so what we did was form-fitting. It accentuates her small waist and really nice hips. It’s more of like a serpentine cut but with the layers at the bottom," Francis says, further commenting on how it was like collaborating with Kat. "Kat is such a very fun person to work with. She has a vision in her head. She would always look at it from the whole perspective of the entire ceremony. We matched it with the interiors of Manila Hotel wherein it’s very vintage, and we wanted a color that will blend nicely with the interiors."
It's Kat's first time to wear a Francis Libiran creation, and she's so amazed by how the designer was able to put all the elements she wanted into this reception gown, which embraces her curves in a manner that's both alluring and playful.
"When I approached Francis, he asked, "What do you want?" I told him I don’t want to wear white. So we came up with a color, which is blush, and Francis took a lot of time really getting the right blush that I wanted. We even looked at Pantones," Kat tells Metro.Style. "The idea evolved. There were things that I like and Francis took it into account in the dress. [After] a couple of iterations, we ended up with this, which, I feel like, encompasses sexiness, whimsy, and romance, which are the emotions I wanted to captivate in the dress."
Later in the evening, Kat changed into a frothy gown with a pleated bodice, bejeweled waist detail, and a ball skirt by Jo Rubio. The gown is actually Jo's gift to Kat.
Kat's bridal glow shone through with her subdued and effortlessly stunning makeup, done by Jorence Delimos. To complement the ruffled sleeve detail of her gown, hairstylist Ethan David styled her mane away from her face in a messy low bun.

The venue was in Manila Hotel's Champagne Room, whose opulent interiors were transformed with dreamier, more romantic elements, courtesy of event stylist Gideon Hermosa. Describing the magic he did for this reception, Gideon says, "The dreamy details of the setup absolutely match their personalities: soft, warm, and sophisticated. Timeless designs mixed with romantic florals create an atmosphere that's both intimate and stylish, as befits a couple with this level of artistic acumen."
Aside from the lavish setting, other elements that Christian and Kat's guests couldn't help but Instagram all throughout the night were the to-die-for spreads filled with scrumptious food. There was a grazing table by The Home Ground and a dessert spread by Christian Mark Jacobs of Naked Patisserie, who created the semi-naked donut cake for the couple's Bali reception as well as the four-layered floral cake for the Manila Hotel reception.
Congratulations once again, Christian and Kat!
