Christina Aguilera Responds To A Fan, Promises A New Album Is On Its Way

Walking along the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California, USA is a must-have on a tourist's itinerary, most especially for the fans of Hollywood celebrities. For a die-hard fan, taking a photo with the star of his favorite celebrity is seriously one of the coolest and most awesome things ever—but leaving a post-it note on that celebrity's star, hoping your message will reach your idol, is certainly on a different level of fanhood.

“It’s coming b*****s!” The six-time Grammy Award winner, who is also hailed as the “Voice of a Generation,” finally took to Instagram (@xtina) to respond to a message for her that was written on a piece of paper and left by a fan on her Walk of Fame star. The letter expressed impatience as the fan desperately asked the pop vocalist, “Where the f**k is the album?”

Since the release of her 5th studio album Lotus in 2012, the 36-year-old has been seen in the recording studio with English DJ Mark Ronson and American producer Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D. Other rumored collaborators include Kanye West, P!nk, Cardi B, and Linda Perry who penned Christina’s 2002 hit “Beautiful.”

Although it has been years since she last released an album, she had been pretty busy the past few years. Christina has collaborated with numerous artists like American jazz singer Tony Bennett for “Steppin’ Out With My Baby” and American rapper Cee Lo Green for “Baby It’s Cold Outside” in 2012. In the same year, she recorded a version of “The Prayer." She lent her vocals for American rapper Pitbull’s “Feel This Moment” and recorded "Say Something" with A Great Big World in 2013, served as a judge for numerous seasons of the American version of The Voice, guest-starred in the series Nashville in 2015, released a charity single “Change” and a Netflix track called “Telepathy” for 2016’s The Get Down, and contributed the track “America” for the Served Like a Girl documentary film’s soundtrack the following year.

Last November 2017, Christina did the most talked-about Whitney Houston tribute at the American Music Awards. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the soundtrack of Whitney’s movie The Bodyguard, Christina performed a medley of “I Will Always Love You,” “I Have Nothing,” “Run To You,” and “I’m Every Woman.” Invited by the Houston Estate, it was a dream come true for the singer to perform for her idol. During her performance, she shouted out loud "The greatest! My idol!,” before belting out the final notes of “I’m Every Woman."

Christina Aguilera, Stripped, Back to Basics, Bionic, and Lotus—her fans cannot wait for X6 (Xtina’s 6th album). But for now, at least, they can hold on to her promise that it’s on its way, and we can concur that it really is coming.
