From 'The Voice Kids' to the Big Dome: Darren Espanto’s Emotional 10-Year Anniversary Concert

The 23-year-old total performer celebrates a decade in the music and entertainment industry with a concert at the Araneta Coliseum


On June 1st, Darren Espanto marked a remarkable milestone in his career with both heartwarming and electrifying performances at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The "D-10" concert was not just a celebration of his ten-year journey from a young contestant on The Voice Kids to a total performer, but also a tribute to all Darrenatics who have stood by him.






Darren's excitement and gratitude were contagious as he took to the stage, finally realizing his dream of not just performing at the Araneta Coliseum, but having his own concert there. With visible emotion, he spoke to his loyal fans: "This isn't just my anniversary I'm sharing with all of you. This is also a milestone for all of you who have supported me since day one," he emphasized.


The night was a showcase of Darren’s artistic evolution. He delivered a powerful setlist that spanned from his early hits to his latest releases, taking fans on a nostalgic journey. Songs like his breakout performance of "Domino" from The Voice Kids and his heartfelt rendition of "Chandelier" were met with rapturous applause, each note reflecting his growth as a singer and total performer.






His stage presence was commanding as he did not just sing but performed electrifying dance routines that shook everyone. His daring dance moves during "Swalla" by Jason Derulo left the audience in awe and earned him a standing ovation from the crowd. But "D-10" was more than just a solo performance. Espanto shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Original Pilipino Music (OPM). The crowd erupted with excitement as Lyca Gairanod, Erik Santos, Ogie Alcasid, Gary Valenciano, and the one and only Popstar Royalty, Sarah Geronimo, made their appearances and had a world-class duet with Darren. Comedian Vice Ganda added a dose of humor, further enlivening the atmosphere.


The evening's most heartwarming moment came when Darren's family joined him on stage to sing "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. In a touching display of love and support, they performed a song together, much to the delight of the audience. This special segment highlighted the importance of family in Darren's life and career, adding a deeply personal touch to the celebration.






"D-10" was a resounding success, leaving fans eager for more. It solidified Darren Espanto's place as a leading force in the Philippine music scene in his generation. With his immense talent and unwavering dedication, the future looks incredibly bright for this young star.
