If you've been missing in action the past few days, we'll fill you in: Dimples Romana, who plays fierce teleserye lead Daniela Mondragon-Bartolome in Kadenang Ginto, woke up to hundreds (thousands, by now) of memes of herself that made use of an especially memorable scene from a recent episode on the show.

The now-viral images all feature her character dressed in a firetruck-red dress, pulling a matching suitcase and holding onto quilted Chanel handbag in black and gold, a sour, post-argument expression on her face topping off the look.

While that might sound like an unremarkable sight in the teleserye universe, Kadenang Ginto viewers with a great sense of humor took the time to edit the image and superimpose them in a variety of settings, many of which were famous beaches, recognizable destinations, and other popular tourist spots around the Philippines.

Unsurprisingly, they were dubbed the "Daniela world tour memes."

A few days after the Photoshopped images had netizens flying off their seats in side-splitting laughter, Dimples herself embraced the hilarious trend and has posted some of her favorites on her own Instagram account.

The actress who's never shied away from a good joke (including those that have her as its object) drew even more attention to the multiplying memes this week when she and her Kadenang Ginto co-star Beauty Gonzalez actually visited Department of Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo Puyat for a discussion about their possible participation in promoting Philippine tourism.

The DOT acknowledged the effective, but unintentional, ways that the Daniela memes have shone the spotlight on beautiful destinations in the country and how they've helped piqued Filipinos' interest in local travel.

Dimples and Secretary Berna have yet to reveal their finalized plans, but as of today, Dimples and Beauty were tagged as "volunteer tourism ambassadors."

The original creators of the Daniela meme would have likely never guessed that their efforts would land Dimples and Beauty spots in the DOT celebrity ambassador roster, so as it turns out, being meme-famous has its perks, too!

And for your daily dose of giggles, we've rounded up some of the best memes we've seen so far. We'd ask you to pick out your favorite, but we're sure you can't choose just one!
