Scenes From The Red Carpet & Premiere Night Of DonBelle's "An Inconvenient Love"
The families, friends, and fans of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano gathered to celebrate their film that marks Star Cinema's comeback to theaters after the pandemic lockdowns
Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano were in awe of the DonBelle fans' support for them and their new Star Cinema movie, An Inconvenient Love. The two got to see their loyal followers up close as the "24Ever" crew went on a mall tour which culminated in a red carpet event and world premiere night on November 22 in SM Megamall.
Fans gathered at the venue early, to show their love for Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, as the love team that was born during the pandemic marks another milestone in their phenomenal rise to fame. An Inconvenient Love is not only the 30th anniversary offering of Star Cinema, it also marks the comeback of the film production company in theaters after the COVID-caused lockdowns.
In an exclusive interview with Metro.Style, Donny shared that they opted to see the movie for the first time during the premiere night so they could share the excitement with their fans. Donny also talked about the pressure that naturally comes with the movie, "I think siyempre, nando’n ’yung pressure. Hindi naman mawawala ’yun, siyempre kasi, like you said, first time out in cinemas for a Star Cinema film and stuff, pandemic—hindi mawawala ’yung pressure tsaka of course, it’s a big deal for us as well. ’Yung previous movie namin, it was released online, so it was very different—even promoting a movie abroad, being shown abroad in cinemas, going out of town. We didn’t do that for Love Is Color Blind because we didn’t have that privilege yet during that pandemic time, so [it’s] very different."

An Inconvenient Love—directed by Petersen Vargas and written by Enrico Santos and Daisy Cayanan—casts Donny as Manny, a plantito who's secretly an activist, and Belle as Ayef, a store clerk at a convenience store called 24-Ever who dreams of becoming a professional animator in Singapore. The two meet, fall in love, and agree to be in a contractual relationship with an expiration date.
The movie reportedly crossed the Php6-million mark in ticket sales as of November 24, 5pm. It's available in over 175 cinemas nationwide as well as cinemas internationally in locations like Guam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Cambodia.
