DonBelle Shared Their Takeaways On “Can’t Buy Me Love”

The phenomenal on-screen pair talked about their recent realizations while filming the kilig-filled GenZerye

Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano are marking a major milestone as they go together again in the much-awaited Gen Z love story.

DonBelle’s latest series, Can’t Buy Me Love, will soon premiere on streaming platform Netflix. This October 13, three days ahead of its television airing, the Kapamilya dramedy will finally be seen by fans who are waiting to witness a new kind of kilig from the new-generation tandem. Televiewers will get to experience the touch of Mae Cruz Alviar, who is also at the helm of the KathNiel smash hit 2 Good 2 Be True.

Can’t Buy Me Love is an exciting tale surrounding two teenagers, Bingo Rivera (Donny) and Caroline Tiu (Belle), whose social classes are complete opposites. Bingo is deprived of opportunities so he had to toil to survive, while Caroline is brimming with fortune as she was brought up in a wealthy household. Two worlds then collide, leading the characters to an unexpected yet unique journey.

To jump-start the show, ABS-CBN and Star Creatives staged a media conference last October 4, 2023 where the members of the cast shared their thoughts.

Donny and Belle also talked about their takeaways from the series. “Wow. [I learned] that you can’t buy love,” Belle started. “You can’t buy happiness, too. You can only find true happiness and love within yourself and the people you surround yourself with.” Meanwhile, Donny mused: “Siguro ako, ‘yung lesson [na natutunan ko] is never lose that determination in you and that day will come na if you never give up, matutupad din ‘yung mga goals and pangarap mo.”

Apart from lead actors Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, the powerhouse cast of the project comprises seasoned stars Nova Villa, Celeste Legaspi, Agot Isidro, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Rowell Santiago. Maris Racal, Albie Casiño, Kaila Estrada, Joao Constancia, Darren Espanto, Karina Bautista, and Vivoree Esclito are part of the primetime show as well. Can’t Buy Me Love will stream on Netflix, iWantTFC, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.

Catch the DonBelle chemistry this time on the small screen as they take on a new chapter navigating social conflicts and societal expectations. As Donny and Belle enter the lives of Bingo and Caroline, they, too, learn how to perceive love through the lens of a Gen Z, picking up life lessons in turn.
