What's Next For Meteor Garden's Dylan Wang?
Dylan Wang, who became popular for his role as Dao Ming Si in the 2018 remake of Meteor Garden, was in Manila for a fun meet event that was made possible by Bench, the local clothing and lifestyle brand he endorses.
The 20-year-old Chinese actor started his Manila itinerary with an intimate press conference held at The Bench Café in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. There, Metro.Style got a glimpse of the charming heartthrob, learned more about his passions and sense of style, and heard updates about his career straight from Dylan himself!
After the press con, Dylan proceeded to the Smart Araneta Coliseum for the fun meet, and was greeted by thousands of his Filipino fans.
As an endorser of a fashion brand, who now joins Bench's roster of "global Benchsetters," Dylan shared through an interpreter that the best style tip he can give is "to wear whatever you want and whatever makes you happy." Comfort is key when he puts together an outfit, and that's exactly what Bench's latest collection of tees, varsity jackets, pullovers, hoodies, and jogger pants are all about. This style sensibility also mirrors the look associated with rappers, rapping being one of his interests.
Dylan has established himself as a triple threat—an actor, singer/rapper, and a model—but if he didn't become a celebrity, he said he most probably would have been a flight attendant since he graduated from Sichuan Southwest College of Civil Aviation.
With the global success of Meteor Garden, however, Dylan has become more passionate about acting, committed to do better with every new project that comes his way. Asked about his dream roles, Dylan said he's now focusing on "more unique roles," and his latest one as the male lead in the upcoming second season of the fantasy TV series Ever Night fits that description perfectly.
In the period drama Ever Night, Dylan's fans will see him take on a different and more mature role as Ning Que, someone who's skilled in martial arts, swordmanship, archery, and calligraphy. The combination of romance, drama, action, and fantasy in this show, set to be released this coming October, is sure to showcase this up-and-coming actor's versatility.
Here's to hoping this show will be aired in the Philippines as well.
