"Eerie" Has Everyone Shaking To The Bones—See The Celebrities Who Attended Its Premiere!
Are you sure it's only your imagination? Look again and make sure there isn't a lost soul lurking over your shoulder and watching you right now.
Are you too scared to check? Is the feeling somehow, just, too, Eerie? Well, let us tell you that you're not the only one doing double takes at shadows on your wall this week!
The goosebumps are all thanks to Bea Alonzo and Charo Santos possibly doing too good of a job in their latest project Eerie, a feature that's being called the film that's successfully raised the bar for Philippine horror movies.
Eerie, a Mikhail Red-directed feature about a Catholic school guidance counselor on a life-threatening paranormal mission to uncover the secrets of a student's gruesome death, premiered last night and garnered glowing critiques and a near-automatic status upgrade to cult classic.
Seeing celebs like award-winning director Paul Soriano, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil (whose performances in Alone/Together were also praised), Metro.Style cover girl Ina Raymundo, Joshua Garcia, Rob Mananquil (whose wife Maxene Magalona is also part of the film) attend its premier signaled a great run to come as the film opens to the public today.
A tough project for all of its cast, Eerie was especially transformative for Bea whose foray into horror was both rewarding and challenging. Trading in her dramatic chops and her usual romantic onscreen notes for tense, suspenseful acting, she succeeded—and with flying colors!
Celebrating the film's premier at Gringo in Greenhills, the film's cast and crew took the time to unwind and bask in their accomplishments thus far.
A fun photo booth was ready for silly selfies while leads Bea and Charo, alongside Mikhail, gamely answered questions from the press about their experiences on set.
And after seeing the film itself, its very first Filipino audiences were blown away. Here's what they had to say about it:
Just finished watching #Eerie of direk @MikhailRed Couldn't believe that a horror film could be this relevant. Thank you for making a film about this. You have no idea how much this affected me. Thank you @StarCinema— Glenn ??? (@callis213) March 27, 2019
I think the best part about #EERIE is that the whole film feels scary. You can’t say there are scary sequences because the atmosphere or mood or feel of the whole film is, EERIE.— Pelikula-Hype Mania (@pelikulamania) March 26, 2019
THAT IS HOW YOU MAKE AN ENDING #EERIE— Jeffrey Jim Mempin (@jeff0940) March 27, 2019
Now if you're ready for a good mid-week scare, now is the time to get your tickets for what's sure to be a promising ride of shrieks and thrills!
Starring Bea Alonzo, Charo Santos, Jake Cuenca, and Maxene Magalona, Eerie is now showing nationwide.
