They arrived at this magazine interview fresh from rehearsals. Dressed in workout clothes, Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona lounged in the Star Magic office cooling off from what promised to be another high-energy number on ASAP

The chemistry and easy friendship between the two young stars is palpable, and has greatly contributed to the growth of their careers -- as a love team and on their separate endeavors. Since becoming close from their first project Born for You two years ago, they have grown so in tune with each other that they can already finish each other's sentences.

They recall the early days of ElNella with a laugh. Janella reveals, "The first time we really talked to each other, we were on the flight coming back from Japan from our first week of shooting! On the way to Japan, hindi pa din kami nag-uusap even though we sat beside each other on the plane. We bonded a little bit on the shoot, but there were a lot of people around and we did not get the chance to really talk."

On the way home, they took the opportunity to talk about their likes and dislikes and discovered they had many commonalities. "On our flight back, after the pilot week, we got to relax. That was why we were able to talk on the way home."
