Enough! At 60 Cosmetic Surgeries, Human Ken Doll Rodrigo Alves Vows To Stop Going Under The Knife

What's a man to do when perfect still isn't enough? It starts with a nip here, and a tuck there.

At 19, Rodrigo Alves got his first nose job. It would be the first of many, many more to come through the years and the beginning of an addiction that would take over his life.

At 34 years old, Rodrigo has vowed to stop going under the knife after a final surgery that removed four of his ribs to give him a slimmer waist. He now has to wear a corset on top of his clothing to support his spine as his wounds heal.

The UK-based Rodrigo, who is better known as the human Ken doll, says that he never aspired to look like the male counterpart to the world-famous plastic Mattel doll, Barbie. His only goal was to look better and feel better about his appearance—he just didn't realize how addicting it was going to be.

The surgery addict has shared that the desire stems from being bullied for his weight as a child. Like many children and young adults today, he was taunted, teased, and even physically hurt in school by his peers for the way he looked. According to him, his way of getting back at them was to completely transform his physical attributes, and be happy with what he saw in the mirror.

Today, he says he's finally satisfied, after 60 surgeries that cost at least £500,000, or, according to The Sun, more specifically:

  • £8,000 on Botox and fillers
  • £30,000 on nose jobs
  • £3,000 on liposuction to his jaw
  • £10,000 on pectoral implants
  • £22,000 on a cosmetically constructed six-pack
  • £7,000 on fillers to his arms
  • £5,000 hair transplant
  • £7,000 on laser liposuction
  • £6,000 on leg liposuction
  • £3,000 on calf shaping
  • £28,000 procedure to remove four ribs

In an interview with Daily Mail Online, the Brazilian-born social media sensation admits he may have gone overboard, but that this is finally the end. If he ever gets surgery again, it will only be because of medical reasons—or, if previous work done on his face, like fillers, move around and need to be adjusted.

Young as he is, Rodrigo's next venture will be to develop a lifestyle and fashion brand, and maybe delve into a career in acting. As an openly asexual person, he also hopes to become a more active advocate for issues close to his heart, like gender equality and gender fluidity.

Most importantly, he advises anyone who has plans of undergoing cosmetic procedures to speak to their loved ones about it, and once they're sure about it, do their research to avoid botched procedures and irreversible damage.

After 60 surgeries and months of healing, Rodrigo is finally satisfied.
