Dipping his toes in comedy for the first time, the Kapamilya star will return on the big screen through the film I Am Not Big Bird. A co-production among ABS-CBN Films, Black Sheep, and Anima, this is a “delayed coming-of-age” film that follows the protagonist Luis Carpio in a crazy journey in Thailand, “The Land of Smiles.”

It’s a unique tale described as “groundbreaking” that combines humor and reality—a combination that made the actor finally say yes. According to the show makers, Enrique is very hands-on in making the project possible, from choosing his co-stars down to tweaking his lines.
When asked about how he prepared for this role—a porn star lookalike—Enrique offered an honest answer. “I don’t know how I could prepare for something like this,” he admits. “I’m just ready for whatever we’re gonna do.”

Directed by Victor Villanueva and written by Lilit Reyes, I Am Not Big Bird will be released in cinemas nationwide this year. The production team also spilled their plans of taking the film abroad, with international screenings scheduled for 2024.
