1. Seo Ji-Hye and Song Seung-heon
The beautiful “Crash Landing On You” actress Seo Ji-hye is back in the familiar surroundings of South Korea to tell a love story with veteran actor Song Seung-heon in the upcoming MBC Drama “Will You Have Dinner With Me?” Seo Ji-hye will play a heartbroken woman, still reeling from a devastating breakup who serendipitously meets a food psychologist (Song Seung Heon) in a restaurant. The pair's stunning visuals and acting prowess will surely keep the viewers glued on this upcoming drama.

2. Park So-dam and Park Bo-gum
Perhaps one of this year's most highly anticipated pairings, Park Bo-gum and Park So-dam will work for the first time together in the tvN drama “Record of Youth.” Park So-dam is fresh from the Oscar and international success of the film “Parasite” while this show will be Park Bo-gum’s follow-up from his successful tvN series “Encounter” with Song Hye-kyo. He also made a cameo appearance on the recently concluded “Itaewon Class.” The “Record of Youth” will center on the growth of young people working in the modeling industry.

3. Kim Yoo-Jung and Ji Chang-Wook
Sizzling chemistry is anticipated from Ji Chang-wook and Kim Yoo-jung’s upcoming drama “Convenience Store Saet Byul.” The good-looking stars are already established when it comes to their acting skills, and their age difference plays a role too in the excitement. The drama is based on a webtoon about the relationship of a convenience store owner (Ji Chang-wook) and a part-time employee (Kim Yoo-jung).

4. Seo Ye-Ji and Kim Soo-Hyun
Korean superstar Kim Soo-hyun is making a small screen comeback and will be paired with “Lawless Lawyer” actress Seo Ye-ji for the first time. The tvN drama “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” is described as a “healing romance that resembles a storybook fantasy.” Kim Soo-hyun will play the role of a community health worker at a psychiatric ward while Seo Ye-ji will essay the role of a storybook writer who has never been in love.

5. Jo Bo-ah and Lee Dong-wook
Talk about exploding visuals and acting skills! Lee Dong-wook and Jo Bo-ah, armed with years of experiences in K-Dramaland, are set to treat us with their chemistry on tvN’s “Tale of Gumiho.” Lee Dong-wook will play the part of a male gumiho (a mythological nine-tailed fox) who is also working as a public official in the world of humans. Jo Bo-ah will play a gutsy producer director who’s at the helm of a program called “Finding Urban Legends.”

6. Bae Suzy and Nam Joo-Hyuk
Bae Suzy and Nam Joo-hyuk will surely sizzle together onscreen as they pair up for the first time for the tvN drama “Sandbox.” Both in-demand and good-looking, they have started filming for the new drama about a startup company. The story will revolve around a woman who’s dreaming of becoming the next Steve Jobs and who hopes to run her own start-up company as she strives to beat her successful sister.

7. Jung Yu-Mi and Nam Joo-Hyuk
Expect Nam Joo-hyuk and Jung Yu-mi to make you laugh, feel scared, and fall in love all at the same time with their upcoming Netflix series “School Nurse Ahn Eun Young.” The pair will star in this exorcism comedy set in a high school where Nam Joo-hyuk plays the role of a teacher and Jung Yu-mi as the titular school nurse. We can’t wait for them to showcase their comedic chops and romantic magic together!

8. Park Shin-Hye and Cho Seung-Woo
Hallyu superstar Park Shin-hye is making a TV comeback with the JTBC drama “Sisyphus: The Myth” together with “Forest of Secrets” actor Cho Seung-woo. Many viewers are excited for the team-up as Park Shin-hye already appeared in Cho Seung-woo’s movie “Love Phobia” back when she was a child star. This will be the actress’ first time to be the the lead actress in Cho Seung-woo’s project.

9. Moon Chae-Won and Lee Joon-Gi
Another duo to watch out for would be “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo’s” Lee Joon Gi and “Criminal Minds” star Moon Chae-won for the tvN thriller melodrama “Flower of Evil.” While both have worked on the Korean adaptation of “Criminal Minds,” the two will star as husband and wife this time. The drama is about a psychopath who changes his identity to hide his past and his homicide detective wife who will try to uncover the truth.

10. Jun Ji-Hyun and Joo Ji-Hoon
What a treat for early Hallyu fans! “Kingdom” actor Joo Ji-hoon and “Legend of the Blue Sea” actress Jun Ji-hyun are in talks to lead the drama “Mount Jiri” together. Who wouldn’t be excited for this pair? Both actors have led the Hallyu wave with Joo Ji-hoon’s “Princess Hours” and Jun Ji-hyun’s “My Sassy Girl” in the 2000s and it will be satisfying to see them together looking young and still successful after all these years. Though Joo Ji-hoon hasn’t committed to the project yet, fans are optimistic he would eventually say “yes” to it.

11. Bae Doona and Gong Yoo
All hail to the King and Queen! Though the two have yet to confirm their participation, “Goblin” actor Gong Yoo and “Kingdom” star Bae Doona are reportedly starring in a Netflix sci-fi drama titled “The Sea of Silence.” The show is set in a dystopian future where desertification has left the earth with food and water shortages. Gong Yoo and Bae Doona’s star power would certainly be enough to fuel interest for this upcoming Netflix Original.
