Revenge K-drama The Impossible Heir was just released on Disney+. Apart from the gripping plot, the series also has an interesting cast led by Lee Jae Wook, Lee Jun Young, and up-and-coming actress Hong Suzu.

The Impossible Heir is the first series where Hong Suzu plays a lead role. The model-turned-actress had worked on three acting projects before this breakthrough project landed in her lap. Understandably, portraying this role comes with a lot of pressure but she's taking everything in stride and learning along the way. 'I had no experience of working on a project of this length, so I was ready to learn every single time I stepped on set,' she said.

Hong Suzu admitted she was initially scared and concerned about whether she could pull off her role. But to overcome that fear, she shared, 'I studied the script intently so I could absorb as much of the character as possible. I read the script repeatedly so I would have a solid understanding of the overall story arc of the series. In terms of fine-tuning the tone of my performance, I had a lot of conversations with the director to make adjustments before we went to each shoot. Every moment in this process taught me so much一I felt grateful throughout.'

Dubbed 'The Delinquent's Daughter,' Hong Suzu's Na Hye Won grew up struggling financially because of her mother who's constantly cased by thugs and loan sharks due to debts. Despite the challenging circumstances, she managed to secure a spot at Korea’s top university and is determined to get to the top of the social hierarchy and achieve her goals.

When asked to describe her character, Hong Suzu focused on highlighting Na Hye Won's strengths: 'I was drawn to the character because she was a proactive and ambitious female character. I loved how smart, driven, and confident she was despite her family background.'

With only two episodes so far, it's exciting to see how Hong Suzu's approach to her character will turn out, especially when conflicts begin to arise as the narrative unfolds.
