Two years following the release of the hit To All the Boys franchise finale on streaming giant Netflix, a new Covey girl is back on the small screen through the newest young adult dramedy XO, Kitty.

Portrayed by Anna Cathcart, teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey kicks off her independent living journey as she enters the Korean Independent School of Seoul a.k.a. KISS and explores a life of new cultural circumstances, new relationships, and new romantic encounters. In hopes of reuniting with her long-distance boyfriend Dae, played by Choi Min Young, Kitty travels halfway across the globe.

Divided into 10 half-hour episodes, the show takes Lara Jean’s youngest sister Kitty as its centerpiece and follows both her adventures and misadventures as she transitions into a more complicated chapter of her life—teenage years. Co-showrunners Sasha Rothchild and Jenny Han are bringing the character into the spotlight as they believe that it deserves a stand-alone narrative.

What’s more exciting about the coming-of-age showcase is the fact that it is built around a multicultural framework—with some K-drama regulars and newcomers alike joining the promising cast.
