Chi And Gabs Gibbs' "No Hearts" Debut Single, Featured In Two Korean Shows
It was featured in the music reality program “Good Girl” and K-Drama “Find Me in Your Memory”
The relationship between the entertainment scenes of the Philippines and South Korea is becoming stronger and stronger. Filipinos are known to be lovers of Hallyu, but it seems that South Korea is starting to discover the talents of Pinoy artists more and more as well.
Here's proof: recently, the "No Hearts" debut single of sisters Chi and Gabs Gibbs (known as the duo GIBBS), was featured in two South Korean shows.
MNET's music reality program Good Girl played "No Hearts" while Korean-American singer Ailee, rapper Sleeq, and K-pop girl group OH MY GIRL’s YooA and Mimi were talking about their strengths before they competed against each other.
The K-Drama Find Me in Your Memory also had GIBBS' single playing in the background in a photo shoot scene in episode 4.
"We couldn’t believe it! We found out because people would send us clips on Instagram," said Gibbs. "We had no idea how it happened but we’re thrilled!"
"No Hearts" was released in September 2019, with the help of the GIBBS sisters' father, Janno, who's a local music icon. It centers on the sisters' daring insights about moving forward after being cheated on and captures the sound of both 70's dance music and modern pop. The music video also gives a glimpse of the fashion-forward aesthetic of the creative and musical duo.
Chi and Gabs of GIBBS bagged a nomination for New Artist of the Year at the recently-concluded MYX Awards 2020, and are now working on new music.
