Gigi De Lana Talks About Her “Domination” Concert Tour

Gigi De Lana just held her first-ever live concert, titled “Domination,” at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World last March 5. It’s ABS-CBN Events’ first on-ground concert in two years, and this successful event is just the start of Gigi De Lana and The Gigi Vibes’ exciting concert tour, which will have a Middle East leg.
Gigi De Lana just held her first-ever live concert, titled “Domination,” at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World last March 5. It’s ABS-CBN Events’ first on-ground concert in two years, and this successful event is just the start of Gigi De Lana and The Gigi Vibes’ exciting concert tour, which will have a Middle East leg.
To say that this concert tour is a dream come true for Gigi, who’s dubbed as a “new gen pop rock diva,” is truly an understatement. She’s been singing since she was a kid, and holding a concert has always been part of her goals. She and her bandmates at The Gigi Vibes (Jon Cruz, LA Arquero, Jake Manalo, and Romeo Marquez) have come a long way from being a wedding band to livestreamers during the pandemic to digital stars (their YouTube channel already has more than 700,000 subscribers, as of this writing).
To say that this concert tour is a dream come true for Gigi, who’s dubbed as a “new gen pop rock diva,” is truly an understatement. She’s been singing since she was a kid, and holding a concert has always been part of her goals. “Sobrang saya ko. Sobrang saya ng puso ko kasi hindi lang ako ’yung andun sa concert. Kasama ko ’yung Gigi Vibes, pinaghirapan namin ito ng kabanda ko. And sa dami ng pagsubok na dinaanan namin, finally, ito na,” Gigi tells Metro.Style. “And maraming salamat din kay Lord kasi nu’ng times na dun kami sa pagsubok ’di kami pinabayaan. And ’yung banda ko, ’yung Gigi Vibes, ’yung family ko na ’yan, hinding-hindi nila ako iniwan kahit nu’ng walang-wala ako. And ngayon meron na kami, hindi pa rin nila ako iniwan.”

But it was apt, as it perfectly encapsulates what they want to achieve next, with this momentous concert marking the next chapter of their partnership and friendship. “Finally, ito na ’yun! We will dominate the whole world,” she muses. It’s their goal to spread good vibes through their music, and they’re doing that exactly one livestream and live performance at a time.

Gigi De Lana and The Gigi Vibes are gearing up to take on the global stage: Jubilee Stage for Expo 2020 in Dubai on March 12, the National Theatre of Abu Dhabi on March 18, and Crowne Plaza Bahrain on March 25 in partnership with Filipino Club Bahrain.

She became popular for her viral “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita” challenge, and has since released a self-titled debut album featuring the hit single “Sakalam.” She also debuted as an actress, starring in the ABS-CBN x iQiyi series Hello, Heart with Gerald Anderson. She also sang “Nasa’yo Ako,” the official soundtrack of the series Viral Scandal.
