HORI7ON Starts Their Global Pop Group Journey

HORI7ON onward!

The journey always begins with the first step, and HORI7ON recently made a major milestone to kick off their global pop group journey. HORI7ON signs a contract and becomes a certified Kapamilya and MLD artists as ABS-CBN and Korea-based company MLD Entertainment continue their ongoing partnership to co-manage the group’s career.

With over 25 million combined votes from the country’s first idol survival show Dream Maker, HORI7ON members were finally determined, and these are the charming and talented Jeromy Batac, Marcus Cabais, Kyler Chua, Vinci Malizon, Reyster Yton, Kim Ng, and Winston Pineda.

These seven young boys were given the opportunity to become the next global pop group through Dream Maker, a collaboration project of ABS-CBN, MLD Entertainment, and Kamp Korea. From over 62 hopefuls, they have proven their worth to become the next idols after going through grueling missions and challenges.

The members expressed their excitement over the contract signing.

“Itong day na ito iyong nagso-solidify sa amin as a group kasi parang sini-cement na talaga namin iyong place namin sa representation namin sa global stage for the Philippines, and we’re so excited na magpatuloy pa ito,” Vinci says.

“This is definitely one of the most special and important days as a group. I think it’s a blessing that we all just came from joining Dream Maker and we were the chosen seven to continue our journeys and that’s why it’s a meaningful day for all of us,” Marcus adds.

MLD Entertainment CEO Lee Hyoungjin expresses his confidence in HORI7ON as a group and notes on what makes them a standout.

“I think HORI7ON is the group that has the best qualities of K-pop, what makes a K-pop group and what makes a P-Pop group so with that, both of the best qualities of K-pop and P-pop are what’s going to make them. HORI7ON is the only group—the first group ever actually to be showcasing both of these qualities to the world,” Lee remarks.

Star Magic Head Laurenti Dyogi also took the opportunity to thank MLD Entertainment as a partner and appealed to everyone to support the newly formed group.

“[For our partner], the next big idol group will come from the Philippines kaya nagkaroon ng Dream Maker and we’d like to thank you Mr. Lee for this, and for somebody who recognize Filipino talent, on behalf of ABS-CBN and the Filipinos, maraming salamat sa inyo po and sa MLD,” Dyogi says.

“Suportahan nyo rin sila kasi the journey will really be difficult. It’s a whole community effort so kailangan talaga nila ng suporta ninyo. They’re also sacrificing a lot but sa nagti-tiyaga, malaki ang kapalit at biyaya. Take care of each other,” he continues.

Also present at the contract signing were ABS-CBN Unit Heads Reily Santiago and Marcus Vinuya.

HORI7ON members are also preparing for their next important step: their training and future debut in South Korea. According to Marcus, he’s working on improving his stamina so he can keep up with the practices and in going all out with their performances while Winston and Kyler are already acquiring the habit of showing up early and on time for schedules since they know that Korean culture particularly values time and punctuality. Kyler adds that he’s also been practicing his freestyle dances to improve his skills.

Before flying to Korea, HORI7ON also announced that they will be holding fan meetings in the Philippines to thank fans and supporters. The schedule is as follows:

MLD Entertainment also revealed that HORI7ON already received an invitation for a music festival in South America and that they intend to market the group in the US.

The seven-member group released its pre-debut teasers for “Salamat,” an original song for fans, and the MV teaser for “Dash,” a song composed by Dream Maker Korean mentor and hit composer Bull$eye.
