In Photos: The Big Winners At The 2020 Grammys
Lizzo and Billie Eilish each took home several awards!
The show must go on. The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards went on as planned on January 26 (Sunday), but not without an impromptu tribute to NBA legend and basketball superstar Kobe Bryant; Kobe, 41, and his daughter Gianna, 13, passed away in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The awards show took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California—a place Kobe considered his home as a Los Angeles Lakers player and the venue that saw him win many championship titles.
From the red carpet appearances to the program itself, the 2020 Grammys was filled with highlights that drew attention to the latest achievements in the music industry.
The event opened with a tribute to Kobe, courtesy of performances by Lizzo, Alicia Keys, and Boyz II Men. Other performers at the event included Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani; the Jonas Brothers; Tyler, The Creator; Usher; FKA Twigs; Camila Cabello; Tanya Tucker; Ariana Grande; Aerosmith; Demi Lovato; John Legend; and Billie Eilish.
Our favorites would have to be Camila's heartfelt performance of "First Man," dedicated to her father; Ariana Grande's "Imagine," "My Favorite Things," "7 Rings," and "Thank U, Next;" Demi Lovato's "Anyone," and Billie Eilish's "When the Party's Over" performed with Finneas O'Connell.
Big winners that night were Billie and Lizzo, who each took home several awards. Others who also won more than one award were The Chemical Brothers, Gary Clark Jr. Anderson Paak, Kirk Franklin, Lady Gaga and her A Star is Born family, Jacob Collier, John Greenham, Rob Kinelski, Billy Ray Cyrus, For King & Country, Nipsy Hussle, Lil Nas X, and Tanya Tucker.
