Sophie Turner And Joe Jonas Are Officially Parents
They welcomed a daughter—and have already revealed her name, too!
It's for real. One of Hollywood's funnest, most good-looking, and most made-for-each other couples are officially a mom and dad!
Sophie Turner, whose claim to fame was playing Sansa Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones, and Joe Jonas, one third of the literal band of brothers whose crooning and raven hair were the stuff of our after-school special favorites, reportedly welcomed a baby girl on July 22.
But even though we'll have to wait for their baby girl's first "hello" to the world, there's something that we do already know about the bundle of joy—her name!
She was named Willa, and Sophie and Joe had reportedly picked it out way before she was born. We have to say we're a little relieved that Sophie didn't push through with her initial plans of naming their baby Basil, if it turned out to be a boy, or Advil, if they had a girl instead. (She, of course, was just kidding—was she? You never know with Sophie. We're just glad they decided on Willa, in the end!).
Curious fans have theorized that the name Willa, whose origins are German and roughly translates to "resolute protection," may be a nod to Sophie's eight-season Game of Thrones run where she played Sansa, the character destined to become the Queen of the North and ultimate protector of snowy Winterfell.
In case you've yet to watch the show (which you should), that's the reference—that Sophie wanted to immortalize the TV role that changed her life forever in her very own daughter, a role that embodies the strength of a female leader.
A week after welcoming their baby into the world, first-time parents are just happy to be that: parents!
They're not in a hurry to show Willa off any time soon, and have even limited who can visit them in their home given COVID-19-related risks. They're a hundred percent satisfied with spending time together with just each other as company, sending updates to just friends and family for the time being.
Have Sophie and Joe evolved from being a beautiful Hollywood couple to a picture-perfect family? We think so!
