7 Fun Things Hwang Min Hyun "Unveiled" At His Manila Mini Concert

Hwang Min Hyun is known for his versatility in the entertainment industry. He initially gained recognition when he debuted as a member of Pledis Entertainment’s K-pop group NU’EST from 2012 to 2016. He eventually participated in Produce 101, an entertainment reality show in search of boy groups in South Korea, which earned him a spot in the group Wanna One. 

When his contract with them ended in 2019, he re-joined his previous group, NU’EST, and flourished until its disbandment in 2022. Apart from being a K-pop idol, he also ventured into acting further showcasing his talent and range. For those who might have missed him (who would, though?!), he was Seo Yul in Alchemy of Souls and Kim Do Ha in My Lovely Liar.  

Hwang Min Hyun visited Manila, Philippines for a mini concert titled "Unveil" which took place on October 8 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. The event was organized/presented by PULP Live World.

While we couldn’t get enough of his good looks, charisma, and oozing talent, there’s more to this all-rounder artist than meets the eye. Here are some interesting tidbits we have "unveiled" about Min Hyun during his visit:

He is a nature-lover.

During the press conference held a day before his mini concert, he shared that he is a true nature lover. Given the chance, he would like to visit Boracay because he heard a lot about how beautiful the sunset is on the island. 

He is a daredevil.

Apart from traveling with just his backpack in tow, he also wishes to just go on a very spontaneous trip, book his ticket and hotel last minute, and just travel one day. Add to that, among the many adventurous things that he would also like to try is skydiving. 

He is a triple threat.

During the “Timing Game” segment in his mini concert, his fans got to see him sing, dance, and act… and even give love advice! C’mon, what can this guy not do?! But because he only got two correct answers out of the four questions, he had a punishment which was a real treat to HWANGDOs: he gave a sneak peek of his moves and onstage charisma as he danced to EXO Baekhyun's "Betcha" and NewJeans' "Super Shy."

He is always learning and improving himself.

Even when he has already reached this level of stardom, he still finds time to practice his singing through voice lessons. The 29-year-old superstar also shared that since he’s still in the learning process and is almost always shooting one drama series to another, he constantly takes acting lessons to hone his skills. Not only that, he mentioned that since he is in a “visual profession,” he diligently works out and pays close attention to his diet. What. A. Pro.

He is more “relaxed” now when it comes to his career. 

As a celebrity, Min Hyun shares that he had always lived with a set of strict standards due to his desire to do better and excel. This kind of discipline has earned him awards as an idol and worldwide recognition as an actor, no doubt. But now, at 29, he shared that he is more relaxed and even more appreciative of where he is at. 

He is an ISFJ.

Min Hyun recently took the MBTI test just recently and he’s a bit surprised to find out that from ESFJ, he has now evolved and matured into an ISFJ. He attributes this to his newfound interest and appreciation for alone time and relaxation. He believes that this is his more natural and true self. 

He is effortlessly funny.

During the press conference, he greeted the audience in Filipino… but not after he comically took out a tiny piece of paper from his pocket and read from there, which had the entire room laughing. At the mini concert, there were moments when Min Hyun would respond to his HWANGDOs cheering and teasing with an endearing facial expression followed by a witty or casual remark that’s so hilarious we almost wanted to take him home.
