"Tuloy Ang Pasko"—Kapamilya Stars Gather To Film ABS-CBN's 2020 Christmas ID

For millions of Filipinos worldwide, it's how they know that Christmas has officially arrived. 

The ABS-CBN Christmas ID—a music video featuring an original composition and lyrics plus scenes of hundreds of of Kapamilya artists and ABS-CBN employees singing along to the tune interspersed with clips exuding holiday warmth and cheer—is arguably one of the network's most recognizable and beloved Yuletide projects.

In fact, the ABS-CBN Christmas ID tradition celebrates its 18th anniversary in 2020, and this year, gathering for the project is proving to be an especially emotional time for Kapamilya stars, crew, and supporters of the network. 

It's the first time that ABS-CBN will be filming—and airing—its annual station ID while the channel is off-air. The network was shut down in May and has since turned to cable and digital platforms to broadcast its news and entertainment programs. 

With its closure resulting in the retrenchment of thousands of employees—many of whom were responsible for the creation of the ABS-CBN Christmas ID—Kapamilya supporters doubted that a Christmas ID could even be possible.

But on the afternoon of November 19, ABS-CBN Entertainment released the first of this year's Christmas ID teasers, quashing all doubts about the network forgoing the tradition this year. 

ABS-CBN's Creatives Communication Management head Robert Labayan provides an extra guarantee: "'Wag kayong mag-alala, ginagawa na po. Sinusulat na 'yung kanta." 

ABS-CBN new anchor Julius Babao echoed the same sentiment in an IG post. 

A few behind-the-scenes snaps from filming the year's ABS-CBN Christmas ID also shows which stars have gone on board with the project.

There to kick things off were KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, Martin Nievera, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Ogie Alcasid, Vice Ganda, Toni Gonzaga-Soriano, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, Nadine Lustre, James Reid, Joshua Garcia, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, Jane de Leon, and Angel Locsin. 

Kathrina Sanchez from the Creatives Communication Management shared a few photos of some of the stars prepping for the day's shoot.

More celebrities are set to join the Christmas ID's subsequent days of filming. 

A date for the official release of the ABS-CBN Christmas ID has yet to be announced.
