Wow! Ivana Alawi Hits 10 Million YouTube Subscribers

After just 14 months on YouTube, the sultry actress and vlogger becomes one of the biggest local names on the video sharing platform

It all started with dirty laundry.

Ivana Alawi, a new ABS-CBN star, is also a massive YouTube sensation whose rising fame on the platform can be credited to a 14-minute long video of her doing house unordinary chores. In the vlog from 2019, she checks out her sheets, sets up the rice cooker, makes adobo, hangs out with her little sister Mona, and best of all, does her laundry (palanggana and laundry soap and all).

The "day in the life" episode is her most viewed video on her channel that's named after her, raking in 24 million views and counting.

Fast forward to today, 14 months since she officially joined YouTube as a content creator, Ivana Alawi surpassed 10 million subscribers, earning one million of them in just two months. It's the kind of growth so many YouTubers can only dream of.

Ordinary settings aside, what's made Ivana so popular on the streaming platform is her ability to entertain; she's a natural comic on-cam who's unafraid to make fun of herself and is pretty much game for anything (as evidenced by her "eating blue food for 24 hours challenge" and "24 hours swimming pool challenge" videos).

There's that, and the fact that Ivana Alawi is a real looker with the curves to match; it doesn't take much for the Filipino-Moroccan beauty to catch your attention, a trait of hers that earned her her newest title to date. She's Tanduay Rum's 2021 calendar girl, the photos from which showcase her best assets.

Ivana made her small screen debut in 2018 and has since starred in a handful of TV and film projects for ABS-CBN, but has had to pause her budding acting career due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She's more than comfortable returning to her full-time gig as a YouTuber in the meantime, justifying her meteoric rise to Internet fame with the kind of content her fans have come to love her for.

Most impressively, Ivana's channel has 72 videos and that number has been enough to help Ivana reach 10 million subscribers. It's earned her the nickname of "The Queen of Philippine YouTube," a title she'll likely be able to keep for a long time.

Browsing through her channel, you'll see that this 23-year-old isn't the Internet personality to take herself too seriously. Most, if not everything, she posts on the channel is lighthearted fun, all meant to give her viewers a good laugh.

You'll see her participating in ridiculous YouTube challenges, playing pranks on her family members (or being on the receiving end of pranks), enjoying food (mukbang videos abound!), partnering with fellow artistas, and ultimately, doing relatable, everyday, slice of life things. You'll also find a couple of travel vlogs and house tours peppered in there.

Aside from her videos' visual appeal, what makes them so great is Ivana's unfiltered commentary and direct viewer interaction. She's relatable that way, and it's what makes her subscribers feel that they could be in the same room with her, passing the time and talking about whatever comes to mind.

It's a rare occasion to see Ivana get serious and dabble in current events, but with everything going on in the country, the pandemic plus disastrous typhoons in the mix, she has switched gears a couple of times and used her platform to showcase how we can be of service to Filipinos in need.

One video from May shows Ivana and her family assembling relief packages for their kababayans most affected by the COVID-19 crisis, and her most recent upload is of her heading to Cagayan and Isabela to be of help to underserved typhoon-stricken communities.

We're definitely looking forward to seeing more of Ivana on YouTube for more feel-good content, something that the world needs more and more of in times like these.
