Janine Gutierrez is currently in Italy for the 81st Venice International Film Festival! The Filipino actress, who also stars in the new series Lavender Fields, is attending the prestigious festival because her movie by renowned Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz, Phantosmia, will premiere there.

In the middle of the promotions of Lavender Fields, Janine flew to Italy and is touring around Venice for the first time. 'Pinch me pinch me so happy to be here,' she captioned a series of photos on Instagram wherein she's exploring the city's famous canals.

Back in July 23, Janine took to Instagram to share the happy news that Lav Diaz's Phantosmia will premiere at this year’s La Biennale di Venezia.

All I’ve ever wanted is to make good projects and I’m just so thankful that all the work has led me here, part of another story that showcases our Filipino filmmaking to the world 🤍 Thank you thank you thank you,' Janine shared of this incredible milestone.

In an exclusive interview with Metro.Style, Janine talked about Phantosmia, saying, 'Phantosmia is starring Ronnie Lazaro and it's about a retired scout ranger who is experiencing 'phantosmia' which is like a post-traumatic stress disorder symptom where you're smelling something that's not really there, caused by past traumas. And then, I'm one of the characters, si Reyna, who he encounters in his journey to get better.'
