Janine Gutierrez Looks Back On Her Time In "Dirty Linen"

Last November 8, 2023, award-winning actress Janine Gutierrez marked a new milestone in her career after signing another exclusive contract with ABS-CBN.

The Dirty Linen lead, together with ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, ABS-CBN Coo for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN Head of Entertainment Production and Star Magic Head Laurenti Dyogi, ABS-CBN CFO Rick Tan, and her talent manager Leo Dominguez, graced the “Solid Kapamilya: Network Contract Signing.”

During the contract renewal, Janine expressed how delighted she is to still be staying the network. “Sobrang surreal na pumirma na ako ng pangalawang kontrata ko with ABS-CBN, kasi dati, it was just something that I was looking forward to,” she shared. “Now, ramdam na ramdam ko talaga na Kapamilya ako kaya sobrang grateful po talaga ako.”

Following performing dual characters in the hit revenge series Dirty Linen, Janine earned praises from the public and her co-artists. Through the production, she learned a stack of lessons that she will cherish for life. She also takes pride in how the reception of the teleserye turned out. 

“Mas marami nang tumatawag sa’kin na Alexa kaysa Janine,” she said in jest. “But kidding aside, it has been a great journey for me. It has been one of the happiest times of my life talaga to be able to work with such inspiring actors, writers, and creatives, and of course, lahat ng Kapamilya natin sa mundo,” Janine added.

While she felt so much pressure at first, Janine, too, was thankful that with ample guidance from her peers and fellow creatives, she was able to nail her role as Mila and Alexa in the show. “Grabe ’yung guidance ng mga direktor, and it was such a fun set, so ’yun na lang ’yung iniisip ko kaysa ’yung pressure.”

“I’m assured na sa caliber ng mga kuwento natin sa ABS-CBN, I look forward to any role na i-offer nila sa akin.” As to what she thinks about her being a “solid kapamilya,” Janine said, “I think the essence of being a Kapamilya is being there for the people you love through the good and the bad, and I think that’s what the heart of ABS-CBN—of being a Kapamilya—is.”

True to her words, Janine chose to stay with ABS-CBN even back when the company’s franchise issue was still ongoing. In turn, Carlo Katigbak took his time to thank the actress. “To me, that’s proof that family stays together no matter what. We’re very, very proud of what you’ve done for us, Janine. You’re a very well-loved member of the ABS-CBN family,” he told her.

“From the bottom of my heart, I’m so grateful to be a Kapamilya,” Janine replied fondly. “I really, really look forward to being a Kapamilya forever.”
