This Grammy award-winning popstar is known to have a giving heart, and he's proven just how deserving he is of his glowing reputation yet again in a gesture of genuine concern.
After wrapping up two Houston concerts as part of his "Man of the Woods" tour, Justin Timberlake made it a point to drop by the hospital room of 16-year-old Sarah Salazar, a seriously injured survivor of the deadly Santa Fe school shooting that took place just one week ago. Justin was the second celebrity to visit the teenager, with football star J.J. Watt also paying her a visit.
Justin was pictured kneeling down next to her hospital bed wearing a medical gown and gloves, and although not photographed, it was also said that he gave the high school student some of his tour T-shirts. While Sarah's journey to full physical, psychological, and emotional recovery will be a long and arduous one, this visit certainly lifted her spirits and brought a smile to her and her family's faces.
The photo was shared by Sarah's mother on Facebook and has been liked and shared by over a thousand people. Justin, on the other hand, chose to keep the moment private and did not share it on his social media accounts.
Sarah is one of the students who made it through this tragedy that ended in the death of eight students and two teachers, and injured 13 more individuals. Her encounter with the gunman, 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis, left her with several serious injuries that led her to the intensive care unit.
According to the GoFundMe page set up by her aunt, Sarah is being treated for a shattered shoulder, a fractured mandible, and broken ribs as she was shot from her neck down to her thigh.
Extending his solidarity to the entire Santa Fe community that has been deeply affected by the shooting, Justin ended his second show with a tribute to the city. He sang his ballad "Until the End of Time" with full emotional force, dedicating the soulful tune to the shooting's victims. Photos from the concert also revealed that Justin sported a "Santa Fe Strong" T-shirt to further support and uplift his audience.
There have been at least 20 school shootings in the United States this year as of May, which averages about one school shooting every week.
