Choi Ye-bin - September 2, 1998
“The Penthouse: War in Life” is Choi Ye-bin’s first-ever K-drama, and it boosted her popularity big time. The buzzworthy makjang series featured her as Ha Eun-byeol, a wealthy student at the prestigious Cheong-ah Arts School who’s pressured by her mother (Kim So-yeon’s Cheon Seo-jin), a famous soprano singer, to excel as a singer too. All throughout the K-drama’s three seasons, her character went through a great deal of pressure and numerous emotional breakdowns, showcasing Choi Ye-bin’s talent in acting. This year, she also joined the cast of the cuisine reality show “Delicious Rendezvous.”

Park Eun-Bin - September 4, 1992
She has an upcoming historical/romance series titled “Yeonmo” (or “The King’s Affection”) this October, wherein she’s paired with actor Rowoon. In the series, the Crown Prince’s wife gave birth to twins, a son and a daughter. But since having twins is considered ominous in the Joseon period, the daughter (Park Eun-bin) is thrown out of the palace instead of getting killed. When her twin brother passes away due to a disease, their mother keeps this death a secret, slips her daughter back into the palace, and raises her to stand in her brother’s place as a Crown Prince. It’s a role that’s indeed far from the last character Park Eun-bin played: a university student training to become a violinist in 2020’s “Do You Like Brahms?” alongside actor Kim Min-jae.

And just last July, Kim Hye-soo was reported to have been tapped for her first historical drama in 20 years titled “Shuroop;” the role she was offered is that of the mother of troublemaker princes and a wife of a great king.
