Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla Earned Nods at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards

Celebrity couple Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are among the Asian names who earned nods at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards. The country’s much-coveted pair is raising the Philippine flag at the festival as they represent the Philippines in the Outstanding Asian Star category for their roles in the megahit rom-com 2 Good 2 Be True. Daniel and Kathryn’s talents were recognized along with a host of artists from Asia. 

Launched in 2006, the Seoul International Drama Awards has flourished into a worldwide festival that luminaries from the cinema and television circuit participate in annually. The prestigious awards recognizes global and regional content, conferring accolades to both blossoming and established entertainment personalities. 

The Philippine bets, besides Daniel and Kathryn, include showbiz icons Dennis Trillo, Barbie Forteza, and Julie Anne San Jose. Among the five Filipino actors, only one will be chosen to bring honor to his home country. Top celebrities from China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand are also running for the award.

Last September 2022, An Inconvenient Love lead Belle Mariano captured the Outstanding Asian Star crown for her stellar performance in the series He’s Into Her, and became the first ever Filipina to bag the title. This edition, reel and real-life lovebirds Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are elevating Filipino talent to the frontier as they carry the country’s torch to the annual film affair.
